Initial Impressions
Appearance: 95
“Beautiful dark brown figurado where the classic shape draws you in like Rita Hayworth. This is a sexy cigar. ” –James H. (Keikan Jim)
Aroma: 93
“Rich notes of stone fruit with a barnyard finish are found on the foot. There’s a rich note of leather found on the wrapper with a white pepper and cedar predraw.” –Alan (Eulogy)
First Third
Flavor: 93
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
“Immediately met by cocoa and milk chocolate notes. Very appealing first third. Medium bodied with just the right amount of spices to head into the second third. Burning like a champ! Very creamy retrohale. ” –Kevin J. (maninblack77)
“Right off the bat I’m getting a lot of anise notes. There’s a fair amount of pepper on the finish with cedar, leather, and sourdough bread making up the rest of the profile. The smoke output is very good and the burn is excellent even with the odd shape so far. ” –Alan (Eulogy)
Second Third
Flavor: 91
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
“So, what is the mystery of the postprandial anaconda? Well so far I’m seeing some irregularity to the burn for the first time as we continue into the mid third, upside is that the draw seems to be opening up a bit. In terms of flavor, there’s continued good news. Apparently more girth equals more flavor. This really seems to be developing a second wind in terms of more accessible flavors, creamy coffee with a dash of sugar, and still featuring some nice background spice. Pepper is pretty much gone, even on retrohale. At this mid point I finally gave up waiting for this to correct and touched a ragged edge a bit to even it up. Rich roast coffee and dark chocolate notes dominate through the end of the mid section. ” –John I. (John I.)
“The second third takes on a mineral quality mixed with the dark fruit and a touch of anise. The finish lingers forever with a salty twinge on the lips and tip of the tongue. ” –James H. (Keikan Jim)
Final Third
Flavor: 93
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
“The final third gives yet another side of this cigars personally. It has a very smooth winter spice character with an added exotic pepper which has a gradual heat gradient that I like. Retro remains a little on the hot side but is still very smooth. ” –James H. (Keikan Jim)
“Anise and black tea have stolen the show again. Notes of cedar, grain, and white pepper round out the profile much akin to the first third. ” –Alan (Eulogy)

“This cigar burned like a champ. No touch ups needed. ” –Kevin J. (maninblack77)

“From the appearance to the draw to the burn, so close to perfect. No complaints. ” –Kevin J. (maninblack77)
Overall Strength: Medium-Strong
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
Experience Overall: 94
“This is a sexy cigar of obviously quality. Although the mineral quality that fade in and out of this particular vitola are not my personal favorite, they may fit you and I highly recommend the reader to try it. I have a feeling this cigar will come at a premium price point and it will be worth it. If not, it will be a bargain. ” –James H. (Keikan Jim)
“One of the better cigars that I have had in awhile. The flavors were fantastic and the profile changes kept me engaged the entire way through. This is a slow burning cigar so plan accordingly. I highly recommend picking up a five pack and giving it a try. ” –Alan (Eulogy)
“Really nice overall. I’m still sort of agitated over the bizarre format of this cigar, but in terms of flavor it was a winner. Good transitions with early sweetness and spice finished with a dash of pepper moving into sweet creamy coffee and ending with deep rich espresso notes. I’ll be interested in checking out something in this line in a more traditional vitola. ” –John I. (John I.)
“This was an amazing smoke. Beautifully crafted, great flavors that were in my wheelhouse, I don’t have anything bad to say about it. I’d score it a 95. Definitely would buy a box of these. ” –Kevin J. (maninblack77)
