comes in one vitola, a box-press and comes in 20-count boxes. Ben Holt, owner of , stated, “In the process of blending this cigar I really tried to focus on what the name Home meant to me in the context of cigars. I kept reflecting back on how much I love Esteli tobacco and the first time I spent at Fabrica Oveja Negra. Fabrica Oveja Negra creates fantastic artisan cigars and it instantly became a no brainer for me to highlight these tobaccos in this way. I'm very proud of this cigar and how it brings out the flavor that I feel is the taste of Esteli.”

Blind Cigar Review: Dissident | Home 2019 Initial Impressions

Appearance: 95

“This is a handsome looking box press cigar. The wrapper is a dark brown with thin Hershey chocolate barber poles spaced about two inches apart. It is smooth and sleek with no visible veins and feels very nice in the hand. The foot is dense with more dark tobacco and the cap is smooth and blend well into the head of the cigar.” – (ArmyRN)

Aroma: 91

“The wrapper had a sweet tobacco aroma and the foot had a peppery hay smell. The cold draw had the flavor of chocolate.” –Daniel S. (Daniel S.)

Flavor: 95
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“I was very surprised by this cigar. There was a licorice flavor that mixed with a slight cocoa and leather. Black pepper was abundant and finished by leaving my mouth full of what tasted like the pepper corn used in some steak marinades.” – (ArmyRN)

“Nice smoke output. A little tougher to get started than I'd expected based on the appearance of a fairly loose foot.
Pretty solidly medium bodied from the start, and seems capable of building in potency.
Flavor wise there is a lot a sweetness here with nutty/floral notes as well.
Ash dropped at about the twenty minute mark as I was trying to position it for a pic. Otherwise all is great. Remains really sweet and surprisingly creamy and the strength has leveled out at pretty medium.” –John I. (John I.)

Flavor: 92
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“Not of lot of change up in flavors into the second third. Black pepper spice increased a bit in the retrohale. A but of enjoyable cream also enters into the flavor profile. ” –David F. (dfafjf)

“The flavors have remained much the same while the strength of the smoke has significant increased… Enough that I'm actually feeling the nicotine. Through the nose the burn has subsided while the hint of black pepper remains.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)

Final Third

“The pepper has calmed down considerably but isn't leaving either. I am surprised by a citrus lemon note that has crept in and gives the cigar another twist of flavor. The mineral and salty finish mix nicely with the burst of cocoa that comes out at the end. ” – (ArmyRN)

“The final portion on this smoke has shown a significant decrease in the strength commensurate with a decrease in leather and pepper. ” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)

Overall Impressions

Draw: 92

“No issues with the draw. This was an easy cigar to smoke and required no re-lights. There was a medium amount of smoke produced but without a ton of effort.” – (ArmyRN)

Burn: 89

“Nice consistent burn throughout. Maybe a little quick burning. ” –John I. (John I.)

Construction: 91

“Really nice construction on this one… The appearance is really nice with the barber pole and box press. Additionally, the ash was strong and even drew the attention of folks sitting near me.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)

Overall Strength: Medium-Strong
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
Experience Overall: 94

“Very enjoyable cigar. Beautifully presented and lots of great flavors throughout. Only critic would be that I desired a bit more complexity but when a cigar is enjoyable sometimes to good to have great flavors all throughout. ” –David F. (dfafjf)

“This was a very interesting cigar for me. The abundance of flavor notes and the powerful black pepper corn were balanced by the mix of leather, cocoa, mineral, salt and lemon. I didn't expect what I got but was very pleased with the complexity. This is a cigar I would love to smoke again and again.” – (ArmyRN)

“Aside from some acridity toward the end from allowing this to overheat, this was a very enjoyable smoke. The initial creamy sweetness, transitioning into deeper bolder flavors worked really well for me. ” –John I. (John I.)

“I had high expectations of this cigar because of the looks of this cigar. Unfortunately the flavors did not match the appearance of the cigar. At times I got some nice flavors but overall it lacked complexity and balance. The harshness throughout the cigar wrecked the flavors I enjoyed. I felt a little disappointed at the end.” –Daniel S. (Daniel S.)

“This was a good smoke with a nice initial profile and good consistency. The nicotine was a surprise in the middle but it faded quickly and was not over bearing. I'd smoke it again for sure.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
