Initial Impressions

Appearance: 88

“Todays review is a rather rough looking , measuring 5X50. Color is chocolate brown, dull in color without any sheen. Seams look good. Wrapper is rough, not smooth at all and has a number of very prominent veins and wrinkles. Head is rounded and the cap is really rough, with bumps and some edges of the cap not adhered to the head.” – (NavyPiper)

Aroma: 88

“The wrapper had a nice aroma of chocolate, the foot smelled like tobacco and the dry puff gave off coffee and earthy flavors.” – (WyldKnyght)

First Third

Flavor: 88
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“Starts off with a healthy dose of wood and dark roast coffee flavors. There is a clean pepper taste that bounces back and forth with the wood, bringing a freshness along with intermittent boosts of strength to the cigar.” – (shuckins)

“The first few puff are your pretty basic cedar and pepper combo, pleasant. Getting further in, the wood flavors develop a little more and take over the profile. Now I’m getting a combination of cedar and oak, along with a splash of coffee.” – (rhetorik)

Second Third

Flavor: 89
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium

“The middle third takes off from where the initial third left off with a lot of leather and hay. There is a little bit of pepper in each draw. There is not many other flavors that can be appreciated. Quite one dimensional. The burn skews to a point where it had to be touched up once. The cigar has become quite soft from the heat of the draws. The draw and smoke production is still very good.” – (Djangos)

“Second third continued with the earlier flavors including the spice, but part way in, the smokiness increased significantly, and the coffee faded out. Woodiness is still there and a little pepper came in. Not too shabby at all in this third. Draw is tightening up some, and ash is still tight and solid, but drops off at about an inch.” – (NavyPiper)

Final Third

Flavor: 88
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium

“The final third starts off with the same flavors of leather and hay with some pepper. In the last inch or so, the flavors suddenly become muted and an ash like flavor becomes quite prominent with a lot more of the harshness. Towards the very end, the pepper rears its head again and ramps up quite rapidly. The burn is quite skewed until the very end. The draw and smoke production is excellent until the end. Quite one dimensional and not in my profile.” – (Djangos)

“The strength and pepper have picked up a little bit to add to this third. Towards the end, I’m left with mostly just a leather and pepper flavor, pleasant, but not very engaging. It doesn’t get too hot to the nub and the burn and draw remain good.” – (rhetorik)

Overall Impressions

Draw: 89

“A firm draw, but effective,,with no shortage of smoke.” – (shuckins)

Burn: 90

“No major issues with the burn, it was pretty even from start to finish.” – (WyldKnyght)

Construction: 89

“This cigar seemed to be well constructed, it was very firm with some hardness towards the foot.” – (WyldKnyght)

Overall Strength: Medium-Strong
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium
Overall Experience: 88

“A decent cigar to smoke after a big meal, but I could have done without the harshness it started with.” – (shuckins)

“Overall, the cigar was OK for a quick smoke for a newcomer but was definitely not in my profile. There was a harshness that was quite off putting. I will probably not smoke another one.” – (Djangos)

“This cigar looked good, smelled good and started out with some promise, but quickly turned for the worse with the flavor change to harshness towards the second 3rd. This cigar was not that enjoyable to me.” – (WyldKnyght)

“This was an enjoyable cigar. I would consider this a good every day smoke, something to keep on hand when you don’t need to think about it much. It wasn’t very complex, but it did have some good transitions. Nothing about it wowed me, but nothing turned me off. If the price is right, it could be worth picking up.” – (rhetorik)

“Overall, not bad. Decent flavors, a few changes until the final third which was the same as the second. Burn was straight, but the draw, which was really good for a third and a half slowly kept getting tighter and tighter. By the end, it was really tight.” – (NavyPiper)
