Initial Impressions – Casa de Sueños Angelito Corona

Appearance: 91

” Visually striking with a vibrant marigold wrapper that is velvety smooth to the touch.” – (Unpossible_1)

Aroma: 90

“Wonderful scents of walnuts, buttery earthy leather and light barnyard entice my nose while flavors of earth and leather from the cold draw.” – (Bostoneo)

First Third
Corona – Blind Cigar Review

First Third

Flavor: 89
Strength: Mild-Medium
Body/Complexity: Light-Medium

“I clip the cap with my v-cut and torch the foot to get things underway. The first thing I notice is a combination of salt and pepper with some creamy cashews.” – (Unpossible_1)

“The initial flavors of this sample were interesting and were full of sharp, slightly acrid notes but that quickly mellowed out and left me with an interesting mix of mixed nuts and marshmallows. I'm so glad for the change as the initial few puffs were not very enjoyable and had my eyes tearing up on the retrohale. Now that the flavors have stabilized the retrohale is really wonderful and smacks of subtle white pepper.” – (Jokey Smurf)

Second Third
Corona – Blind Cigar Review

Second Third

Flavor: 89
Strength: Mild-Medium
Body/Complexity: Light-Medium

“Entering the second third, mild tobacco flavors alongside a supremely creamy profile come forth. Lighter flavors of green tea and other herb flavors also come in and out, providing additional complexity to this lighter profiled smoke. This third wraps up with even more creaminess, maybe the creamiest cigar I've ever had. Nut notes, and white pepper to keep me satisfied.” – (Bostoneo)

“The strength has ticked up a little bit adding a bit of body. I'm still getting the same notes as the first third with mineral, baking spice, and cedar.” – (Eulogy)

Final Third
Corona – Blind Cigar Review

Final Third

Flavor: 89
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“The black pepper is front and center at the beginning of this third. The nuttiness continues as well, now I am getting more of charred wood on the finish as well as some more sweetness mixed in there. Floral on the retro now. Still quite mild.” – (irratebass)

“The final portion of this cigar gave me a complete flavor and strength shift and ramped up significantly in power and overall flavor. Where the middle was one-dimensional and boring the final portion was deeply flavorful and engaging. The primary flavor that developed was leather and earth with a woody finish. Such a welcome change! Through the nose the black pepper too over and was a nice flavor enhancement. The draw, which was already quite good opened up just a bit more as well and the smoke became even richer and I'm sure helped with the flavor profile.” – (Jokey Smurf)

Overall Impressions – Casa de Sueños Angelito Corona

Draw: 95

“Perfection with the draw on this cigar. I wish every cigar i smoked had this draw.” – (Bostoneo)

Burn: 95

“In the first third the burn was a bit wild but after a couple of touch-ups became trouble-free for the rest of the smoke. I'm fairly certain if I had allowed the burn to continue without touching up it would not have self-corrected and would have been a problem.” – (Jokey Smurf)

Construction: 96

“Cigar is definitely well made, with little to no blemishes or soft spots. Burn and draw were spot on as well.” – (Unpossible_1)

Overall Strength: Mild-Medium
Overall Body/Complexity: Light-Medium
Experience Overall: 90

“This was a good cigar. There were several flavor elements, and the retro kept changing on me starting with peanut butter and ending with floral. There was black pepper, sweet caramel as well as nuttiness flavors throughout. This is a perfect morning cigar that I would like to pair with coffee. I would definitely pick up a fiver. Check em' out.” – (irratebass)

“This was an interesting cigar based on the extreme flavor shift from each portion. If it had not fallen off in the middle portion I would be more excited about tracking down another sample. As it is, I'd need to smoke at least one more to get a true gauge for its real flavor profile. I'd gladly try another but would hesitate to buy a five pack.” – (Jokey Smurf)

“I was a fan of this cigar. It is well made and offered some complexity with solid transitions. Add that to the change of strength and I'm a happy camper. The only thing holding it back was the fact that it finished pretty one dimensional.” – (Unpossible_1)

“The experience was slightly better than the flavor. Lacking any transitions wasn't too much of an issue since it wasn't a very large cigar. It really excelled in construction and smoke output. If you like creamy cigars with a mostly mineral profile this would be a real winner for you.” – (Eulogy)

“I couldn't tell what personality this cigar wanted to exhibit, a pleasant mild smoking cigar or an interesting complex medium bodied cigar as the profiles kept bouncing back in forth with periods of mild characteristics followed by bolder aspirations. Overall, however, this was a wonderfully mild, or medium perhaps, cigar that kept me on my toes flavor-wise. This cigar had nearly the kitchen sink of flavors, from earthy and peppery notes to light-bodied tobacco, cream, and delicate herbal notes. Excellent draw, burn and construction were clearly evident with this cigar as well, enhancing the already great smoking experience. This was one of the more interesting cigars I've experienced lately, that was fairly good, give this stick a try, I think you will enjoy it!” – (Bostoneo)
