The last in Diesel's Sunday Gravy series will be released October 3, Porcellino. The name comes from an iconic Florentine fountain called Il Porcellino. The name translates to “little pig,” yet the bronze sculpture is of a female wild boar which is said to bring good fortune and a sure return to Florence.
"This was a very enjoyable and well-balanced dark noted smoke. With fairly constant subtle shifts it kept my interest level pretty high. I would put this in my box-worthy category. The filmmakers behind Hand Rolled: A Film About Cigars have announced the film will be released on Youtube to be viewed worldwide for free. In a brief statement, the Jesse Mariut, one of the filmmakers, said "Our goal in releasing the movie for free for as many people to have access to see the movie and get a brief history lesson on our beloved cigar industry."
Cordoba & Morales will release their latest cigar this Friday, Nica Reaper. The blend is said to use 100% ligero tobacco.
"The beginning notes of vanilla, raisin, roasted coffee, and leather and how it transitioned from the first to the second third really kept my interest. Packed full of flavors. For the first time in five years, Aganorsa Leaf is adding a new size to the original JFR line: Mi Favorito. The new size measures 5 x 70 and, like the rest of the line, has a thick pigtail. Mi Favorito will be offered in both the Corojo and Maduro blends.
Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG), parent company of General Cigar, has announced a new version of their Buffalo Trace blend, “Buffalo Trace Special F." This was made in collaboration with famed whiskey maker Buffalo Trace. The name Special F comes from the unique and difficult-to-roll shape, figurado. This new blend also uses a binder aged in authentic Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels from the brand’s Kentucky distillery.
Southern Draw is expanding the available sizes in the Desert Rose, Manzanita and Jacobs Ladder Brimstone lines. These new sizes include two new line extensions for the Desert Rose, one new size in the Jacobs Ladder Brimstone, and a new size in their newest core blend, Manzanita. All will be regular production.
La Gloria Cubana collaborating with the famed, family-owned El Titán de Bronze Cigar Factory. The company wanted to make this brandto honor La Gloria’s roots in Miami’s Little Havana district, where El Titán de Bronze Cigar Factory is located. This is reflected in the name of the limited-edition called “Eighth Street.” The concept was created by Justin Andrews and the cigar was blended by the team at El Titán de Bronze.
"This was a winner from beginning to end. An abundance of flavors ranging from chocolate and cocoa to nutmeg and leather. Strength was medium throughout but not mild.
