Casa Cuevas Cigars has announced a Limited Edition cigar called La Mandarria which translates to “The Sledgehammer”. Three months ago the Casa Cuevas warehouse was broken into and nearly all their inventory was stolen. They got away with more than 25,000 cigars, including the planned Limited Edition Flacos which they were unable to release. The perpetrators used sledgehammers to break through the exterior wall, hence the name La Mandarria.
The blend uses an Ecuadorean Habano wrapper and features a pig tail and shaggy foot. The company says these will be the first full body and strength cigars in their lineup. There is only one vitola, a 6 x 52 toro that comes in boxes of 20. Price is set at $12 per cigar and only 500 boxes were made. It will be released at this year’s IPCPR show.
