General Cigar is releasing a new Diesel for the holiday season: Whiskey Row Sherry Cask Barber Pole. The new cigar comes in only one size, a 5” x 56 double robusto. The blend uses the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper from the original cigar along with a sliver of Connecticut Shade wrapper. The packaing is a unique branded and bonded tabletop whiskey barrel.
The concept was created by Justin Andrews and cigar blended by AJ Fernandez. It is rolled at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez in Estelí.
The Diesel Whiskey Row Sherry Cask blend is unique in its proprietary aging process created by AJ Fernandez that barrel-ages the rare Brazilian Alagoas Arapiraca binder leaf in Rabbit Hole’s Pedro Ximénez Sherry barrels. The keepsake wooden whiskey barrels contain ten cigars and include a lid that is also an ashtray. Production is limited, but the company did not give specific numbers. The box will sell for a suggested retail price of $124.99 for the cigars and barrel.
