Joya de Nicaragua will celebrate 50 years in 2018, and one of the many commemorative events is the new release of the Antaño Gran Reserva Presidente. This is a TAA Exclusive release that also joins the 50 year celebration for The Tobacconist Association of America (TAA). TAA is a group of select tobacco retailers and specialists in the United States and JDN is the oldest cigar factory in operation in Nicaragua.
The new Antaño Gran Reserva Presidente just so happens to be the favorite vitola of Dr. Alejandro Martínez Cuenca, a 6 3/4 x 50 box press, a line extension for the popular Antaño Gran Reserva. The Presidente is comprised of 100% Nicaraguan tobacco that has been aged for 5 years. A much smoother cigar than the main Antaño Gran Reserva line because of the age of the filler tobaccos.
“When I requested the Gran Reserva blend in the Presidente size, it immediately became my private smoke. This is by far my personal vitola and the one that I request the factory for my daily smokes,” stated Dr. Martínez Cuenca, Chairman and CEO of Joya de Nicaragua.
The Antaño Gran Reserva Presidente will make it’s debut TAA 50th Anniversary Convention, held from April 29-May 3 of 2018 in the Dominican Republic, and the cigars will only be made available to TAA Member Retailers and will carry an MSRP of $12.50/cigar. The 20-count boxes will begin shipping in May of 2018.
