Cigar News: Limited-Edition Cuatro Cinco From Joya de Nicaragua

To honor 45 years of cigar-rolling tradition, Joya de Nicaragua has announced Cuatro Cinco, a rare-for-the-company, limited-edition cigar that starts shipping the first week of November.
Cuatro Cinco is a Nicaraguan puro being rolled in only a slightly pressed, 6 inch by 54 ring gauge size. The wrapper and binder leaf is from the Jalapa Valley, while the filler is a blend of Estelí tobaccos that have been aged in oak barrels for more than a year. A small amount of five-year-old ligero leaf in the filler gives the blend a bit of punch.

The cigar, which will be rolled at Joya de Nicaragua S.A., comes packaged in individually numbered 10-count boxes, of which only 4,500 have been produced. While the price of the cigar has not been officially set, Joya said to expect it to retail between $12.50 to $13.50.
A limited-edition cigar is a rare type of release for Joya. While the company has produced many limited-production, or small batch, brands, the only other limited-edition cigar it has released was a Gran Reserva in 2004.
The band for Cuatro Cinco is attractive, with the company’s familiar tobacco leaf logo stamped in rows on a gold foil base band that wraps around the cigar. A primary black band, embossed with the Joya tobacco leaf and the words Cuatro Cinco (Spanish for four and five) as well as “Edicion Limitada,” partially covers the gold foil base.
Joya de Nicaragua first began rolling cigars in Nicaragua in 1968.
