Cigar News: Luminosa Gigantes from Crowned Heads to Debut at IPCPR 2018

Ring gauge (RG) can be a polarizing topic of conversation in many cigar shops.  People who enjoy premium cigars have very specific opinions about the size of their cigar.  Whatever you may think about the overly-large RG cigars, they are extremely popular and they drive sales.  Give the public what they want, is probably a good business model.  In keeping with this, Crowned Heads is releasing the Luminosa Gigantes LE 2018.

It will be a 6×60 version of the Luminosa, sold in 12-Count boxes.  The total production will be limited to only 24,000 total cigars.  As with some other Crowned Heads cigars, this one is being made at Tabacalera La Alinaza S.A. in Dominican Republic.  They will debut at the 2018 IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas.

Crowned Heads co-founder Jon Huber said this about the new release: “The decision to release a 6×60 cigar was not an easy one.  Personally, I prefer smaller ring gauge vitolas, and tend to lean towards traditional petit coronas, coronas, and corona gordas, as my sweet spot has always been in the 42-48 ring gauge.  That said, the Luminosa Gigante LE is more about Crowned Heads responding to a market demand than our personal preference of cigars and vitolas.”
