Cigar Info
Family X Loyalty is a fairly new cigar company having launched in 2021. They came out with three new blends this year at the TPE trade show: Hati, Skoll, and Fenrir which join their debut blends Geri and Freki. The company is based out of Doral, Fla and was started by Alan Sanabria with his business partner Ernie Cordova. The names of the cigar lines come from Greek mythology. The company name represents their way of life. “Because the wolf pack, you have your blood to be family, you gotta be loyal.” Today I’ll be reviewing the Family X Loyalty Fenrir.
All five of Family X Loyalty‘s blends come in the same three vitolas: robusto, gran toro, and a 3 1/2″ x 52 vitola that the company calls “Pipe Size. Sanabria also owns a cigar accessory brand called CS Cigar Pipes. The pipes are made from various hardwoods, and are made to insert your cigar into the end and then smoke it through a shaped tip, though there is no filter in the middle. The three new blends are rolled at the Blackbird Dominicana factory.
I met these gentlemen in August at the Smoke At The Creek cigar fest, and their passion really piqued my interest, so I picked up a fiver of every blend in the Robusto size. I smoked them all. Alan hosted a contest that I won and sent me all five blends in the Pipe size. This is the first Quick Review in the series. I will be smoking and reviewing the rest.

Pre-Light – Family X Loyalty Fenrir Pipe Size
This cigar is a soft box press with a closed foot and a pigtail cap. The wrapper is a medium reddish brown in color, which is smooth to the touch with some visible seams. The aromas I pick up on the body is milk chocolate with some barnyard. The closed foot gives me cocoa powder.
First Third
Sweet Tobacco mixed with chocolate and hints of peanuts. The strength is a medium at best. I pick up a faint note of citrus or orange peel on the finish.
Second Third
I get Bazooka Joe bubble gum on the retro. This cigar started out as a medium, but it has moved into the medium plus area now. There is some baking spice that linger on my palate along with some salt on my lips.
Final Third
The beginning of this third I am picking up black licorice. There is some cream and black pepper on the retro with some laundry room/linen on the finish.
Final Thoughts – Family X Loyalty Fenrir Pipe Size
This cigar hit on all cylinders just like the Robusto. This is a perfect winter smoke as it clocked in right at 45 mins, this is what they were shooting for. The draw was open as I tore off the pig tail cap instead of cutting it. There was plenty of smoke and so many transitions which is something you become familiar with as this series continues… TRANSITIONS. The cigar started out in the medium strength and moved into medium plus along with a bit of a nicotine buzz. Lots of flavors including chocolate, peanuts, citrus, baking spice, salt, black licorice, cream, black and white pepper. I have decided to buy a box of these, but I am torn on which size. Please do yourself a favor and pick up a sampler of all five blends and judge for yourself ‘Treat Yo Self!’
