Fratello Cigars has announced La Floridan, a new cigar with an old history. This new cigar will first be sold this month ABC Fine Wine and Spirits. Initial production is limited to 12,000 Cigars.
La Floridan dates to 1909 and was originally manufactured in Tampa Florida. “I find historical cigar brands fascinating. I try to put myself in the shoes of the mastermind behind this 100-year-old brand and its intended connection to its target market,” said Brand Owner Omar de Frias. Part of the reason for this release is their desire further highlight the long history of tobacco in Florida.
La Floridan come in just one size, 6 x 52 toro that sells for $9.99 per cigar. They come packaged in boxes of 20. The cigars are rolled at the La Aurora factory in the Dominican Republic. “La Floridan is a full-flavored cigar with a medium body profile that is layered and complex,” added de Frias.
“We are excited to collaborate with Fratello on the production of La Floridan. The cigar will fit right in with our clientele and our history,” said Chris Gwaltney of ABC Fine Wine and Spirits. ABC Fine Wine and Spirits has been a family owned and operated business since 1936.
The blend for La Floridan uses a Cameroon Ecuador wrapper, Dominican Binder and Brazilian, Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. Fratello will join ABC efforts and donate a portion of the proceeds to support the United Cerebral Palsy of Central Florida.
