Altadis U.S.A. Inc., the company that brought to market the award-winning Romeo by Romeo y Julieta last year, is releasing a special edition under the same name.
The Romeo by Romeo y Julieta Special Edition will have just one size: a parejo measuring 6 inches long by 60 ring gauge called the “Gran Bully.”
In addition to amped-up dimensions, the Dominican blend is apparently being given an extra punch, and will be ever-so slightly more full-bodied than its predecessor. Otherwise the blend is consistent with the other five sizes in the Romeo by Romeo y Julieta line: Ecuadoran wrapper, and Dominican binder and filler. The big cigars will retail individually for about $12.50.
That Piramides size in the original blend received a 94-point rating and ranked third in Cigar Aficionado’s 2012 Cigar of the Year list.
Altadis is only producing 6,000 10-count boxes of this limited edition cigar, and each will be numbered.
