Quick Cigar Review: Emilio | Papa Joe Cigar Info

Papa Joe is a 5×50 Robusto featuring an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Ecuadorian and Nicaraguan binder and filler. The cigar is a Fabrica Oveja Negra factory exclusive made by James Brown. Papa Joe comes in bundles of 25 and can be found at a few select retailers.

Pre-Light

Very nice looking cigar with a light coffee bean brown wrapper. The label is a simple black with PAPA JOE in an old typewriter font white. Aroma is mostly cedar and tobacco.

First Third

The beginning is a medium-light experience with some very nice pepper spice on the retrohale. The main notes are smooth cedar with hints of coffee. The burn as been great and the ash has yet to fall off with well over an inch.

Quick Cigar Review: Emilio | Papa Joe Second Third

During the 2nd third the cigar remains an extremely smooth smoke. The strong pepper spice on the retro has left, however there is a slight spice during the main smoke. It’s more of a baking spice with a bit of cedar in the background. The burn has remained razor sharp along with a strong ash.

Quick Cigar Review: Emilio | Papa Joe Final Third

During the final third the overall spice picks up and is very nice. It is not a overpowering spice which keeps within the theme of the cigar overall. It is still a very pleasant smooth smoke that is enjoyable. The burn as it has been all along is still razor sharp. This is a cigar that you can smoke to the nub as it does not get hot so you can enjoy it to the very end.

Overall Thoughts

Overall the Emilio Papa Joe is an extremely pleasant smooth smoke with just enough spice for those who enjoy that in a cigar. It is also overall a nice smooth smoke with cedar, baking spices and pepper spice on the retro that it can be enjoyed as your first cigar of the day with coffee or as an everyday smoke at any time of day. It is a very nice addition to the Emilio portfolio by Fabrica Oveja Negra.
