"Something about this cigar blend was a superstar for me. I often found myself smoking too fast because I was enjoying the blend so much. Leather was the star backbone of the blend from the first puff until the last. There was some great complexity first, with cedar sweetness and a slight white pepper on the retro. Then, some hazelnut and subtle baking spice notes as the blend progressed. I would smoke this again and look forward to discovering what it was." -Lauren S. (Lauren S.)
Before embarking on the major restoration of their El Reloj Cigar Factory in Tampa, the J.C. Newman team had to clear out almost 70 years' worth of items from the building. During this process, they uncovered some unexpected hidden treasures. Some of these include a trap door from the 1930s with a secret staircase, J.C.'s travel trunk, and a stash of 10-year-old Brick House cigars that were tucked away in the basement. The latter is the premise for this TAA cigar.
"This is a big cigar that's not big on flavors or complexity. With a ring gauge this large, if I'm going to spend over an hour and a half smoking a cigar I would ideally like to experience more flavors and transitions." -Allison T. (The Yoga Ash)
The original Brick House cigar debuted in 2009 by J.C. Newman Cigar Company. This has been followed by both maduro and Connecticut line extensions in the following years. Now, the company is shipping a limited edition exclusive to TAA retailers: Brick House ‘Ciento por Ciento’.
"As I sit and ponder the cigar I just finished I am reminded why I smoke cigars. It is for experiences like this…wonderful flavors, excellent performance, and a perfectly relaxing 90 minutes where the troubles of the day disappear and I feel like the richest man in the world. Cigars like this remind me of how this is a luxury for everyone and I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who has a liking for full flavor and just enough power to keep them humble. I could smoke this daily, and would be proud to have boxes of this on the top shelf of my display humidor. I can say with a certainty I will be buying a box after this is revealed." -Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
"This is actually an easy cigar to sum up. If you like full bodied cigars that burn slow and deliver the straight forward flavors of earth and black pepper, then you will probably enjoy this cigar. If those flavors aren’t your jam and you’re inclined to smoke something with a little nuance or transitions... smoke something else. " -Matt Cade (CadeTNCC)

The Brick House Culebra contains one of each of the three blends in the line: Double Connecticut, Maduro and Natural. All of the Brick House cigars are rolled at the J.C. Newman PENSA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. On top of the cigars, we will be including some shirts from J.C. Newman to the first 3 winners.
"Overall this wasnt a bad smoke. It was uninspiring for me though and really didnt do anything that would make me interested in smoking it again. If the draw were better it might be of some interest to others that like floral flavor profiles. " -Dave W. (mdwest)
