Drew Estate has postponed the Florida Barn Smoker originally scheduled on May 16th to November 14th due to concerns about Coronavirus COVID-19 and guidance form the CDC.

Drew Estate announced today, a new size for their Undercrown Maduro and Shade blends, a 4 x 44 Corona Pequena. The new size will be shown off at TPE 2020.
For the second year in a row, Crowned Heads is partnering with Drew Estate for their annual "Paniolo Especiale" Limited Edition cigar. This is an exclusive to the state of Hawaii. Paniolo Especiale 2020 is rolled at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Esteli, Nicaragua and is a corona gorda measuring 5 3/4 x 46. The blend is similar to last years using a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Mexican San Andres binder, and filers from Nicaragua, and Dominican Republic, but this year features tobacco from Brazil. The Paniolo Especiale 2020 comes in boxes of 10 and have the same price of $9.80. Production is smaller this year at 5,000 cigars compared to 4,000 in 2019.

Drew Estate released details today of it's 2020 Barn Smoker event schedule. This year, locations will include events in Florida, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Kentucky and Louisiana. Drew Estate launched the Liga Privada Unico Year of the Rat back in 2016 as a cigar lounge exclusive. Now, the company is expanding that cigar to Drew Diplomat Events to coincide with the Chinese New Year and it will be shown at TPE 2020.
Today, the four largest cigar companies in America announced that they will not be attending the PCA (formerly IPCPR) trade show this year. Altadis, General, Davidoff, and Drew Estate each released separate press releases but the general consensus is that they are unhappy with the declining attendance, lack of cooperation with members to make changes to the organization, and rising costs. The linchpin for this action new seems to have been the general unrest around last year's poorly executed announcement of Consumer Day, which has since been cancelled.

After Suspending Cigar Safari in 2018 because of political unrest, the Drew Estate is new resuming the trips in 2020, but limited to 5 trips. Full schedule will resume in 2021.
