Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) announced today that Craig Reynolds will be retiring from his role of Executive Vice President of STG and President of the company’s North American Online and Retail Division (NAO&R) at Cigars International. Replacing him is Sarah Santos who will take the title President of the company’s North American Online and Retail Division (NAO&R) and Senior Vice President of STG. Reynolds will continue to support the transition of the NAO&R Division until May 31, 2020 when he will officially retire. During his retirement, he will continue to stay on in a consultancy role for STG and the NAO&R division until December 2020 or later.
Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) will acquire Thompson and Co. of Tampa, Inc. (Thompson Cigars) for a purchase price of USD $62 million. The closing of the deal is expected to happen by the end of March 2018.
Thompson Cigars is one of the leading online cigar retailers in the United States. Thompson is a family-owned business, founded in 1915 and based in Tampa, Florida. They have annual net sales of USD $100 million and they employ 185 people. Thompson will provide STG with access to one of the largest and most attractive customer bases for premium cigars, and a retail store with call center, also located in Tampa.

Today, Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s North America Branded Business Division (parent company of General Cigar) announced that Régis Broersma, President of General Cigar and Senior Vice President of Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s North America Branded Business Division (General Cigar, Scandinavian Tobacco Group Lane and Scandinavian Tobacco Group Canada) will be taking on a new role. He will be relocating to Europe and taking over the Smoking Tobacco & Accessories Division.
