The first Ricochet blend, released last year, was blended to reflect his love of Italian Zinfandel or “primitivo” taking cues from the wine like spicy, earthy, leathery, and a little sweetness and spice.
This new Ricochet is blended to remind him of first Left Bank Bordeaux. He describes it as very balanced and complex with a definitive spicy minerality, and a touch of soft sweetness. The name “Cru Mexi-Sol” comes from its Mexican Sungrown Wrapper. It also uses Indonesian binder and fillers from Nicaragua, Pennsylvania and the Dominican Republic.
