Enrique Seijas‘ Matilde Cigars will ship a new blend at the beginning of next year: Serena Maduro. This maduro line extension follows the original Connecticut Matilde Serena that came out in 2016.
This new blend retains the same filler tobaccos used in the original, but swaps the binder for a Dominican C98 and the wrapper for a Mexican San Andres. This blend is described as slightly stronger.
The Serena Maduro is rolled at Jochy Blanco’s Tabacalera Palma be initially sold in two sizes: Robusto (50 x 5 ¼) and Toro Bravo (54 x 6 ½). Other sizes will be added further into the future.
This is the first new regular production Matilde cigar lines since the launch of the Serena Connecticut in July 2016. Last year, the company launched their Limited Exposure No. 1, and this year followed it with the Limited Exposure No. 2.
