Alec Bradley Cigar Co. has started shipping their new line that debuted at PCA this year, the Double Broadleaf– Experimental Series. This line marks the third in the company’s Experimental Series following the Project 40 and Project 40 Maduro.
The Double Broadleaf blend features wrapper and binder leaves that are Alec Bradley‘s proprietary, first-grow Connecticut Seed Honduran Broadleaf tobacco. The rest of the blend uses an additional binder leaf from Nicaragua, and Honduran and Nicaraguan filler. It comes in 5 sizes, each in green and natural wood, dual-tone, 24-count boxes: Robusto: 5 x 50 $9.85, Chunk: 4 x 60 $10.50, Gran Corona: 7 x 46 $11.00, Toro: 6 x 52 $11.50, and Gordo: 6 x 60 $12.75. Alec Bradley Double Broadleaf– Experimental Series is being produced in Danli, Honduras at Tobacos De Oriente.
Double Broadleaf exemplifies the ‘Experimental Series‘ perfectly; it tested our knowledge of agronomy, blending and the market. We grew Broadleaf tobacco in Honduras from heritage Connecticut seeds, combined it with other premium tobaccos from Nicaragua and Honduras, and we’re now shipping a flavorful cigar that delivers the extra horsepower our brand advocates have been asking us for.
