Initial Impressions

Appearance: 92

“This is a very attractive cigar, very even in color and almost no seams or veins. It has a lot of give on the foot when squeezed. The triple cap ends in what I would call a nipple, not quite pigtail.” –Emmett (rhetorik)

Aroma: 91

“The wrapper and foot had a mild scent of tobacco, the dry puff had some earthy flavors.” –Craig (WyldKnyght)

First Third

Flavor: 94
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“I can tell that this cigar is no joke right off the bat. It’s really earthy and that rich coffee that I picked up earlier in the aroma. There is a slight crack that opens up but it has no effect on the smoke output. I also get a nice paprika spice on the retrohale.” –Jack (Jack_H)

“The very first puff was a little stronger than I expected. Wood smoke filled my mouth and nose and was the dominant flavor and smell. After several puffs and the heat died down from the initial burn, I noticed some earth flavors. I also detected some prune smell and flavors a little further into the first third. The burn was mostly even for this part of the cigar.” –Paul (pmr1010)

Second Third

Flavor: 93
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“The middle third starts off with the same leather but the woodsy cedar flavor is much more muted at this time. There is a more pure tobacco flavor that has emerged. Also, there is nutmeg and some pepper in each draw. The sweeter cocoa is now not apparent. There is also some hay and grass that make an appearance towards the end of the third. The burn remains wavy throughout the third. The draw and smoke production remains great.” –Sandeep (Djangos)

“At the start of this third I start to pick up a nice floral note on top of the leather and oak, very unique and pleasant. After a while, the floral note fades along with the leather, and now I’m mostly getting that oak flavor with some spices in the background. I have enjoyed this third a lot.” –Emmett (rhetorik)

Final Third

Blind Cigar Review: Black Label Trading Company | Deliverance Corona

Flavor: 93
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“The cedar and sweetness that came into the mix in the second third finished out the cigar as the wood smoke remained the glue that held it together. The burn got even looser this final third and I had to touch the cigar up a couple of times.” –Paul (pmr1010)

“The final third brings more of the leather and tobacco to begin with. As the third progresses, the pepper and spice becomes stronger with an almost cayenne like quality. The tingling on the tongue and palate are more intense now. The cedar and woodsy notes are back giving this third a more complex character. Towards the end, the pepper ramps up quite rapidly and hits a crescendo. The burn now is quite skewed and I fight the urge to touch up and persist through the third. The draw and smoke production remain excellent.” –Sandeep (Djangos)

Overall Impressions

Draw: 94

“Tons of smoke output yet not an overly loose draw.” –Jack (Jack_H)

Burn: 89

“The cigar suffered from some burn issues the entire time. The burn started out wavy and in the final third started to skew quite a bit. However, I did not touch up this cigar.” –Sandeep (Djangos)

Construction: 90

“The construction overall was very good. I felt like it was a little loosely packed and it was a little light in hand, which I think lead to the burn problems, which were not all that serious.” –Emmett (rhetorik)

“A really solid cigar with tons of smoke and tons of flavor. What’s not to love! This is one I am excited to see what it is so I can buy some more.” –Jack (Jack_H)

“I really enjoyed this cigar. The flavors were rich and worked well together. There wasn’t a real swing in flavors, which is good, it was a solid taste that kept my interest.” –Paul (pmr1010)

“Overall, this was quite an enjoyable cigar with a decent amount of complexity. The flavors were strong and transitioned well. Would definitely smoke again.” –Sandeep (Djangos)

“I was not impressed with this cigar. The very beginning and the very end were the best parts, but everything in the middle just did not taste good at all.” –Craig (WyldKnyght)

“I really really enjoyed this cigar, one of my favorite blind reviews recently. The flavor changes were dramatic, and always balanced. I liked the core flavors of leather and oak, but there were also a few surprises like the floral note that I appreciate. I would definitely buy some of these and recommend that everyone try one.” –Emmett (rhetorik)
