Blind Cigar Review: Camacho | Distillery Edition Corojo Toro Initial Impressions

“This Cigar had a great rustic feel to the touch. Milk chocolate in color with a little tooth.” – ()

Aroma: 89

“Nice barnyard aroma at the foot.” – (randobush)

First Third

Blind Cigar Review: |

Flavor: 91
Strength: Mild-Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“On the cold draw there is cocoa powder, pistachio, and hint of white pepper. Very nice. First light, right off the bat, I found hay, cayenne, pistachio, light cocoa, hint of caramel, with a wee slight burn on the retrohale. Medium body, medium strength two minutes in, with an excellent draw and smoke output. Nice white ash, with a slight semi wonky burn 1” in, but looks like it will even itself out without touch-up.” – (randobush)

“Once lit you’re met with copious amount of oily smoke. Sweet tobacco and earthy leather are found on the palate for the entirety of the third. These flavors are enhanced by lingering pepper spice in the sinuses as you retrohale it. Very one dimensional to start, IMO.” – (TheRealBanzi)

Second Third

Flavor: 88
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“Second third went into more of pretzels, earth, and roasted coffee. The sweetness was still there and reminded me of a salted caramel.” – ()

“The flavors of this cigar finally open up. Anise forms the backbone of this third with a sprinkling of cedar and graham cracker. The leather has fallen to the background; as to has the pepper in the sinuses. It is replaced with that sweet tobacco note from the first third. The smoke continues to be oily and lingers on the palate for a good long time.” – (TheRealBanzi)

Final Third

Flavor: 90
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“Final third brings a graham cracker note, caramel cream, with espresso, cocoa powder, and a bit of white pepper. I still tasted the salty pistachios all the way through until the end. Hint of citrus towards the end. Burn almost perfectly even until gone.” – (randobush)

“Coming into the final third the cracked pine has opened with a slight spiciness in the back of throat like cayenne pepper, but not over powering. The ash is becoming super flaky and the burn becoming very uneven with touches up needed all along. As the woodiness left, it has become more peppery from cayenne to black pepper on the mid part of my tongue. I really wish it didn’t take this long for this cigar to really find some serious flavors notes.” – (The Yoga Ash)

Overall Impressions

Draw: 91

“This cigar had no issues with draw at all. It is nice and easy to get a full mouth of smoke with ease.” – (The Yoga Ash)

Burn: 88

“Good even burn, no touch ups needed.” – (Bearded Bastard)

Construction: 93

“This was a well put together cigar. Ash was firm and held on for about an inch and a half before it needed to be ashed. It had its moments where I was worried, the wrapper won’t burn, but overall it never turned out to be a problem. ” – (TheRealBanzi)

Overall Strength: Medium
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
Experience Overall: 92

“This cigar was a flavor treat and did not disappoint on any level. Very profound flavors and excellent transitions. It was not in the least bit boring, and I wish I had another.” – (randobush)

“An enjoyable smoke for these days of quarantine, kicked back with a piece of cinematic crap called Roller Gator, and puffed away with my customary cigar partner known as coffee. It was a good pre-work experience, being essential, I did have to go to work after. It was a bit strong on the last end, a nice little kick to get me motivated.” – (Bearded Bastard)

“This was an enjoyable cigar. It had complexity and body. Never stayed the same. Wood, earth and sweetness were the prominent flavors but would go back and fourth enough to make them feel new. If you like medium to full cigar with some great rustic flavor then this would be right up your alley. Loved it.” – ()

“This cigar took a while to long to ramp up into its tasting notes. If I wasn’t doing a review I would have put it down in the second third as the it wasn’t really tasty til the end. Also the burn was wonky.” – (The Yoga Ash)

“Where I was unimpressed by the first third of this cigar, it won me over in the end. All the flavors came together to create a wonderful smoking experience. If you are a fan of dark, earthy flavors with hints of sweetness you should pick up a few of these to enjoy.” – (TheRealBanzi)
