Initial Impressions

Appearance: 88

Very nice looking cigar. Wrapper had a nice milk chocolate brown. Minimal veins and very good seems. Very nice looking stick.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)

Aroma: 91

Aroma’s of coffee with light leather and a peppery tobacco have me looking forward to lighting this one.” –Ron (shuckins)

First Third

Flavor: 88
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

A huge blast of pepper on light up that brings the heat with it. This lasts longer than I would have liked, but when things calm down, a dark roasted coffee bean flavor brings a woodsy tasting tobacco forward with it.” –Ron (shuckins)

The sweetness of cedar and tobacco, along with a creaminess of some leather, really shines with the absence of an initial pepper blast. An occasional hint of allspice catches the back of my throat. This is a pretty mild start for this cigar.” –Gregg (McGreggor57)

Second Third

Flavor: 88
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

Pepper is still leading the way, but there is a strong presence of coffee moving forward. The tobacco has a woodsy campfire taste to it that adds a little heat to the cigar.” –Ron (shuckins)

The coffee flavor from the first third was the predominant flavor through the second third as well, it built a little but stayed pretty clearly coffee. The ash was light in color and texture and flaked a lot. The ash was also fragile and dropped off almost too soon for me to get it to the ash tray. The burn line was clean and even through the entire first and second thirds.” –Paul (pmr1010)

Final Third

Flavor: 87
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

Oak is replacing the cedar and some pepper is hitting the retro.. Allspice is still in the mix. Unfortunately, the leather disappearing is allowing some harshness to creep in.” Gregg (McGreggor57)

A little bit of a tang entered the picture in the beginning of the final third, but by the middle of it had left. The coffee flavor continued to dominate the show until as the tang left some rich chocolate came in and stayed for the rest of the cigar. The ash remained quite flaky and light and the burn continued to be clean.” –Paul (pmr1010)

The burn line has stayed almost perfect throughout. No touch ups needed and the cigar held a good ash and produced lots of great smoke.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)

“This cigar is not for the novice smoker, but a solid smoke for those that enjoy a cigar with a purpose. Fuller strength than most cigars I have smoked.” –Ron (shuckins)

“There really weren’t many flavors to be found. At times it was like smoking cardboard. While the cedar and baking spices offered a little interest, they were generally muted and offered little change between the thirds. A tight draw and the cigar simply going out would make me hesitant to smoke this again. It really reminded me of an inexpensive bundle cigar.” –Gregg (McGreggor57)

“A fairly linear smoke with nice flavors. Though there was not much evolution or depth to the flavors, they were good flavors. The beginning was a little harsh, but it got smoother as it smoked. This was just an ok cigar and I don’t think I’d go out of my way to get any more.” –Paul (pmr1010)

“Overall, this was a mediocre cigar. As stated in my previous reviews, I am highly sensitive to bitter cigars. When a cigar is dominantly bitter, I have a difficult time picking out other flavors. I did at times enjoy the roasted nuts, darker chocolate and black pepper, but due to the bitterness constantly present, my attention was mainly focused on how harsh the cigar tasted. I will not smoke another one of these cigars.” –Jiunn (jliu)

“Overall, this was a nice cigar. It started heavy on spice but then transitioned away from that to be more of a relaxing, creamy smoke with some sweetness. I wish there would have been more spice towards the end, but overall a very good smoke.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
