Drew Estate is launching a new cigar exclusive to JR Cigars: NightShade. NightShade is rolled in Nicaragua at the La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate, NightShade and the blend uses a Connecticut Habano wrapper, Indonesian binder, and filler from Nicaragua and Dominican Republic.
Drew Estate’s Pope of Greenwich Village is making a comeback to Smoke Inn’s Micro Blend Series. The Micro Blend Series is a collection of rare, small batch cigars as a collaboration between some of the premium cigar industry’s top companies and Smoke Inn’s owner, Abe Dababneh. The Pope of Greenwich Village is named after the 1984 movie of the same name which happens to be one of Drew Estate Founder and President Jonathan Drew’s favorite movies. The original Pope of Greenwich Village cigar was first sold in 2015 and was the tenth iteration of the Micro Blend Series. Smoke Inn and Drew Estate also brought back The Pope of Greenwich Village in 2021 and it sold out quickly.
On Friday, January 17th, Drew Estate Tobacco Company held a ribbon cutting ceremony at their new leaf processing facility, dubbed “DE2”. Built across the street from their La Gran Fabrica in Estelí, Nicaragua, the new facility is one of the largest, most state-of-the-art leaf processing operations in the world, specializing in dark air-cured tobaccos.

Drew Estate announced today that its line Pappy Van Winkle “Tradition” would now be distributed exclusively by Pappy & Co. at www.pappyco.com. Previously, the cigar had been available at Drew Diplomat retailers in 5 vitolas, now there will only be two: Robusto Grande (5.5 x 54) MSRP $140.00 per box, and Toro (6 x 50) MSRP $150.00 per box. Both come in boxes of 10. Pricing for those two sizes is significantly less than before with the Robusto Grande previously selling for $216, and the Toro selling for $236.
Drew Estate announced today that its ACID Mega and Blond lines will be distributed in Germany. Royal AGIO will handle the distribution starting today. ACID Mega is a Kuba Kuba under a different name for international markets. It comes in a 5 x 54 robusto vitola that uses a Sumatra wrapper with binder and filler from Nicaragua and sells for 7,90€ /cigar. ACID Blonde is a 4 x 38 that uses a Connecticut wrapper with NIcaraguan binder and fillers and sells for 4,50€/cigar. Both lines ship in July.
After an auspicious release with the Herrera Esteli cigar line (The Piramide Fino was named Cigar Aficionado's No. 8 cigar of 2013), brand-owner Willy Herrera is looking to launch a new cigar—the Herrera Esteli Norteño. Unlike the original Herrera Esteli line, which is made at the Gran Fabrica Drew Estate, Norteño will be produced in the Joya de Nicaragua factory.
