The newest cigar from Casa Cuevas, La Mandarria, is now shipping. La Mandarria translates in Spanish to "the sledgehammer" and references the tool used by burglars that stole the entire Casa Cuevas inventory of cigars earlier this year. The cigar was shown off at IPCPR and only 500 boxes were rolled.
"Great pleasure to smoke this lancero cigar. Notes of sugar, floral, peanut, and licorice. Perfection throughout this stick. Minor unraveling doesn't interfere with smoke. Pairs well with coffee. A cigar that I'd seek out and smoke again." -Sean F. (fullermaine)
"All in all a very pleasant cigar to smoke. I loved that the flavor profile started off with a great combination, only to add more to the game as the cigar smoked. No drastic changes, just enough change to sense a difference on the palate and enhance the overall smoking experience. This is a very flavor forward cigar that has much more body than strength. I honestly feel that smokers of all levels will find some enjoyment here. This would be a great cigar for first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee or tea, or an after dinner cigar with a spiced rum or low proof bourbon. Any beverage with a lot of strength or spice will overrun it versus elevate it. I would be proud to have some of these in my humidor." -Kevin A. (Kevin A.)

·"I knew from the look and smell of this cigar I was in for a treat and it didn't disappoint. Premium cigars should just preform this well in terms of construction, smoke output, and flavor. I think if there was just a bit more dynamic flavor profile changes it would have put it over the top. Still there's so much here to like I have to recommend picking up a fiver and just enjoying a terrific cigar. " -Alan (Eulogy)
Casa Cuevas is adding a secondary band to the Prensado line to distinguish it from the Casa Cuevas core line .The Casa Cuevas Prensado line features Habano and Maduro blends. The Prensado line has been around since 2017 and was a follow-up to their core line.
"WOW is all that comes to mind!!! I have a handful of cigars that I consider to be my favorites. All of which check off all the boxes, all of which are consistent, all of which are flavorful and complex and all of which I know I will enjoy whenever I grab them out of the humidor. This stick fits that bill and more! Even though this smoke started off one-dimensional for a short amount of time, the flavors were delightful and far from dull. What stemmed from there was nothing short of incredible! Ripe with an abundance of complexity, flavors, and a series of transitions that told an intriguing story, this smoke proved to be a unicorn in my eyes. My only wish is that this cigar was twice as long to prolong the enjoyment. After one round I am ready to buy a box!" -Noah S. (Noah)
