Joya de Nicaragua has announced a new line extension of their Clásico brand, called Clásico Medio Siglo. They are also updating the look of the original Clásico line. The story of the Clásico goes that in 1970, President Somoza of Nicaragua met President Nixon of the United States for dinner at the White House. Somoza was unaware that his country was making handrolled cigars. After the customary official dinner, Nixon had invited Somoza to retire to the Green Room, where - also as was customary - he invited the Nicaraguan to enjoy brandy and cigars with him. Nixon offered a box - and Somoza was astounded to see it was emblazoned with the brand Nicaragua Cigar Company. He was even more astounded when a smiling Nixon told him it was the official cigar of the White House. He enjoyed them so much that by the time his plane landed back home at Managua Airport, he already had a plan to be part of Nicaragua’s burgeoning cigar industry.

"Overall this is a very enjoyable morning cigar. Just enough complexity and spice to wake you up for your day, but a nice cool floral and woodsy flavor that would pair well with a morning coffee. Though the visual look of the cigar leaves much to be desired, the flavor is very solid and worth revisiting. You also could not ask for much more from the construction or burn. " -Lauren S. (Lauren S.)
"I liked this cigar and wanted to like it a whole lot more except for the burn issues and the falling off of flavors in the last third. I liked the look of it and the notes of leather, coffee, and salt are definitely flavor notes that I thoroughly enjoy. I’d definitely revisit this cigar again and might enjoy it with a mild Bloody Mary as I think it would enhance the flavors." -Diana (ArmyRN)
The 2021 release of Drew Estate’s limited edition Liga Privada Unico Serie “Year of the Rat” will be available exclusively to Drew Diplomat Program starting July 6th.

·"It's June while I'm reviewing this so the talk of winter smokes seems out of place here but this is a strong contender for the colder months. The smoke output, flavors, and construction all make this a tiny but mighty cigar for me. If you want a compact flavorful cigar this could be what you're looking for." -Alan (Eulogy)
