Cigar News: Cigar Dojo & Cubariqueño Cigar Company Announce Protocol Night Stick

Cigar Dojo & Cubariqueño Cigar Company have announced their second collaboration: Protocol Night Stick. This follows last years collaboration Protocol K9. This new release Night Stick is a 6.5″ x 54 Toro Gordo.

As with the previous cigar, they once again worked with Espinosa Premium cigars and their Director of Operations Héctor J. Alfonso, Sr. for the blend. The company says they designed the cigar to cater to Nicaraguan tobaccos and vibrant flavor. The wrapper is an Ecuadorian Habano Rosado Oscuro, the binder is Nicaraguan, and the fillers are from the Condega and Jalapa growing regions.

Juan Cancel, co-owner of Cubariqueño Cigar Co., notes, “We wanted to follow up the extraordinarily successful Protocol K9 with something special for the Cigar Dojo community! We wanted the Dojo Nation to have a very memorable cigar experience, so we blended this beauty especially with them in mind! We hope you guys enjoy the Night Stick as much as we do; I actually love it and am sad that it will not be a regular-production cigar. I made myself a few extra because I know they are going to sell out fast!”

Production on the Protocol K9 was 300 bundles of 10 cigars, they have upped the quantity to 500 bundles of 10 for the Night Stick. Night stick uses custom designed artwork that is atypical of the Cubariqueño police themed series. Just as with the K9, Night Stick will be available exclusively though Famous Smoke shop in-store and online. There will be a release party at the Famous Smoke Shop‘s Leaf Cigar Bar, located in Easton, PA. April 5th at 12pm EST.

Cubariqueño co-owners Juan Cancel and Bill Ives are long time Cigar Dojo members and were inducted in the Dojo Hall-of-Fame in 2014.

“Juan and I have been involved with the Cigar Dojo community since 2012,” adds Bill Ives, co-owner of Cubariqueño Cigar Co. “Being able to work with Eric and blend a second Dojo cigar after the K9 hit is an honor.”
