FDA Announces 30-day Extension of the Comment Period
The Food and Drug Adminstration (FDA) has announced a 30-day extension of the comment period for the proposed rule, Deeming Tobacco Products To Be Subject to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as Amended by the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act. The comment period will now close on August 8, 2014.
The proposed rule could extend the authority of the FDA‘s Center for Tobacco Products to additional tobacco products, including premium cigars and pipe tobacco. The feedback the FDA receives during the public comment period will shape the final regulations that will greatly impact your small business. It is critical that you continue to remain engaged throughout the duration of the public comment period by taking action on IPCPR‘s weekly alerts.
