San Pedro de Macorís will be a new line of handmade cigars from Royal Agio. This will be a brand meant to deliver great quality within an everyday price point. The line will start with two distinct blends, Ecuador and Brazil. These will be displayed in the Royal Agio booth at the 2018 IPCPR Trade show in Las Vegas.
The cigar is named for the town of San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic. This is also the location of Royal Agio’s cigar factory. The new blends in this line are a pursuit to craft an extraordinary cigar at a reasonable price. Each cigar is blended with high-grade wrapper and binder, and also has an original Cuban seed Piloto Ligero filler.
“We set out to craft a uniquely sophisticated, everyday premium cigar, one that would exceed cigar smoker expectations and rewrite the rules on the level of quality and distinctiveness one could expect at a reasonable price. It was a tremendous challenge, as expected, requiring years of development with high-grade premium tobaccos to create these final blends.” said Jaime Florez-Estrada, VP of Marketing for Royal Agio Cigars USA.
The Ecuador blend uses a shade-grown Ecuador Connecticut wrapper, meant to provide a creamy and medium-bodied smoking experience. The Brazil blend has a sun-grown Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper to offer a medium-bodied cigar with compleity.
Francisco Batista, Premium Cigar Master Blender, commented, “Everyone at the factory in San Pedro de Macorís is extremely proud to be a part of this cigar project that directly reflects the local way of life in this town, one that seeks to enhance everyday experiences and enjoyment, no matter what it is. We can’t wait for you to try these cigars!”
