2024 is of course, the Year of the Dragon on the Chinese zodiac calendar. The dragon symbolizes power, charisma and luck. This is the twelfth consecutive year that Davidoff has put of a zodiac cigar, making it the first time Davidoff has completed an entire zodiac cycle, which began in 2013 with the Snake.
Because the Dragon is the largest and most important zodiac of the calendar, Davidoff honors the occasion with a larger double corona cigar with an uncut foot. The cigar also features an eye-catching foot ring, this special feature enables aficionados to enjoy the first inch (2.5 cm) of the masterpiece without the wrapper leaf. This creates an change up of flavors and highlights Davidoff's rolling and blending of this cigar with eight different tobaccos.
The Davidoff Year of the Dragon Limited Edition comes in boxes of ten cigars and production is limited to 19,500 boxes worldwide.
Davidoff – Year of the Dragon Limited Edition 2024 Product Lineup
Alongside the Limited Edition double corona cigar, Davidoff is also releasing a pipe tobacco, only available in the U.S., an ashtray and a cutter – all in the Year of the Dragon design. This Year of the Dragon Limited Edition collection will be completed with a Masterpiece Humidor and a limited gran toro cigar exclusively for the Davidoff of Geneva since 1911 flagship stores.
The Davidoff Year of the Dragon Masterpiece Humidor uses artwork that is the result of a fruitful collaboration between the artists Zhang Zhaoying (China) and Sika Viago (Atelier Lilikpo, France). With their respective craft, they brought the Dragon to life on the humidor.
Zhang designed a powerful Dragon painting which was skillfully translated by Sika into an intricate mosaic she crafted from hundreds of pieces of glass, mirror and brushed brass. Each of the 25 available pieces comes with 88 gran toro cigars that are otherwise only available as part of the Davidoff Year of the Dragon Flagship Exclusive 2024. The cigars come with the same blend and uncut part as the double corona cigars.The humidor is Exclusive to Davidoff flagship stores.
