Diesel Crucible (2021) – Blind Cigar Review

"I ended up enjoying this cigar quite a bit which somewhat surprised me after the first third. Once the pepper spice began to recede and the rather generic coffee note was the only prominent flavor remaining, I began to lose interest UNTIL things turned around for the better and some new notes quickly presented themselves. "This cigar started out typical with mild to medium in strength with mostly walnuts in the flavor department. As the cigar progressed the strength went down to a mild, and cream with roasted peanuts and hints of bread really took over. The second third was the best part of this cigar, but I'm happy to say those flavors continued until the end. I nubbed this cigar with about an inch to go. The flavor profile on this blend was great with a solid bitter dark chocolate flavor later mixed with some nice baking spices and smokiness. A sneaky black pepper kick made me want to retrohale often to spice up the blend even more. There was just a slight construction or leaf problem causing a major central tunnel in the first couple of inches that weighed this stick down. "This was a cigar of interesting finishes. From the onset, the primary flavor was espresso, and remained so throughout. What changed was the nature of the finishing flavors and the accompanying strength. Initially creamy, the finish transitioned to peat and finally to salted caramel. "This was a great cigar! I really enjoyed the 1st third the best, but the rest was a very enjoyable experience as well. I got a lot of sweetness when the lighter wrapper showed up with floral and vegetal notes. When the darker wrapper came around I was picking up nuts, bread, spice, and cinnamon. Diesel Sunday Gravy San Marzano – Blind Cigar Review

I was a bit hesitant as the larger cigars are just not my “go-to” smokes. The cigar was a delight for me to smoke and I would gladly do so again. This stick is full enough to provide a nice array of flavors but not powerful enough to make me want it done before actually reaching the end.
