Cigar Info
Last November, Famous Smoke Shop announced that it would be selling an exclusive 75th Anniversary edition of the Padrón 1926 Serie. Famous 75th Padrón 1926 Series cigars are made in one size, a 5″ x 54 box-pressed robusto rolled in two wrapper choices – Nicaraguan Habano natural or Nicaraguan Habano maduro. Presented in boxes of 10 cigars, these puros are made with 5-year-aged Nicaraguan tobaccos . Only 3,000 boxes have been made, and like all Padrón Anniversary Cigars, they will have individual, serial-numbered cigar bands.
This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience.

Initial Impressions
Appearance: 93
“This is a box-pressed cigar, reminding me of some of my favorite box presses. The wrapper appears as if it is wrapped too tight. The seams appear as if they are coming apart and the lines of the leaf are more pronounced than normal. The wrapper has a nice chocolate appearance.” –Eric (smalls29)
Aroma: 90
“Aromas of sweet wood, bourbon, hints of white flowers, and a touch of leather.” –Stefan (Stefan)
First Third
Flavor: 86
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium
“The beginning of this cigar is very complex. the first flavors are very bitter with a peppery taste lingering on the tongue. The flavors are very woodsy, almost a charred flavor. Almost burnt toast. While the flavors settled down some, I was till left with a burnt taste in my mouth. I am enjoying the peppery after taste” –Eric (smalls29)
“The first few puffs have a light cocoa flavor with some notes of wheat bread. I am getting a lot of a dirty / peaty flavor and that seems to be about the extent of this portion’s complexity. There is something a bit too dry about this blend and really nothing that stands out thus far. It is producing mouthfuls of thick smoke though; a hallmark of an adequately fermented and well-rolled stogie.” –Ryan (Youngryan216)
Second Third
Flavor: 88
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium
“The cigar has continued to maintain a smokey, burnt flavor with some lingering peppery tastes on the tongue. The flavor is a smoky, campfire taste. The aroma reminds me of a nice camp fire at the beach. The flavors have not really changed. However, I d like that they have evened out and remained simple enough to enjoy.” –Eric (smalls29)
“There is still a strong peppery spice during the 2nd third along with a bit of char flavors. Sometimes there is a little twang of a sweetness that comes along. Strong and spicy but enjoyable.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
Final Third
Flavor: 85
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium
“I am still tasting a burnt after taste. Not very pleasing. I do still enjoy the peppery taste that coats the tongue and the palate. I am losing my taste for this cigar. I wonder if I will still be tasting the now sour, burnt flavor later tonight.” –Eric (smalls29)
“During the final third the spice calmed and the char flavor seemed to take over more. The smoke smoothed out towards the end but still had some spice kick to it.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
Overall Impressions

“The draw was very good throughout the entire smoke.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
Burn: 97
“The cigar burned great with no touchups necessary throughout the experience.” –Ryan (Youngryan216)
Construction: 95
“Construction was good. The cigar produced some nice smoke and burned very well. Ash held on fairly well.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
Overall Strength: Medium-Strong
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium
Overall Experience: 83
“I could not wait to be done with this review.” –Stefan (Stefan)
“While not a cigar would smoke on a regular basis, it was a good one. The flavors reminded me of those that I would think were smoked by the hard core smokers in a cigar lounge while smoking brandy and discussing the stock market. Even a rough cut person who came off the trail.” –Eric (smalls29)
“Overall, this was not a strikingly unpleasant experience – just a disappointment. After my initial excitement over the vitola, I was quickly let down by the muddy flavors and lack of transitions. Who is this cigar made for? It is not complex enough for seasoned smokers, but not light enough for new smokers. I simply did not get the point of this stick. This was most definitely a well-rolled cigar, however, the flavors are just not there. I would not waste another evening being bored with one of these. ” –Ryan (Youngryan216)
“Overall I really enjoyed this cigar. Some good strong spice during most of the smoke which I enjoyed and then towards the end when the spice calmed down more of the char flavor came out. The last 3rd was nice.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
