Cigar Info
Late last year, Kyle Gellis launched DROP, a cigar club where members would be able to purchase exclusive small batch cigars.
This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience.
The first release was A Dragon’s Wish. It was rolled the El Titan de Bronze factory in Little Havana. Only 250 bundles of 10 (2,500 total cigars) were rolled. They were aged several months before being released.

Initial Impressions
Appearance: 88
“Pale tan wrapper and plenty of small and medium sized veins run the length of this long and slender sized stick.” –John A. (Bostoneo)
Aroma: 86
“There’s a rich note of tobacco, barnyard, white pepper, and caramel note on the foot.” –Alan (Eulogy)
First Third
Flavor: 88
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
“A spicy blast with a caramel sweetness starts this one off. Spice hangs on through the warm up period. It is fairly complex with many layers of floral note joining the spice. Most of the spice has now departed, leaving way for wood and bread to make an appearance.” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)
“On the cold draw I get milk chocolate, peanuts and a hint of cinnamon. As the cigar progresses I get tea with almonds, chocolate and wood. The strength is medium. ” –Mickey T. (irratebass)
Second Third
Flavor: 92
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium
“Burn has needed two corrections. Burn is in pretty bad shape, but the profile is very nice. As you smoke it gets darker floral leaves. Spice is the only original not left, as things move to wood and then to campfire.” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)
“If I’m guessing, this thing is packed with ligero. The spice level is almost that of jalapeno and quite rich and oily. Hickory, black coffee, burnt caramel, and frosting make a very interesting third of sweet, spicy, and savory. ” –Alan (Eulogy)
Final Third
Flavor: 91
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
“The cola tingle is back from the first third and is only bolstered by the caramel sweetness. I was getting use to the oily red pepper heat but it’s kicked up a notch yet again reawakening my palate. The finish is a long one and after the burn subsides it’s notes of leather, tobacco, and wood.” –Alan (Eulogy)
“Room note is fantastic. Wood and campfire remain as the cigar finishes” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)
Overall Impressions
Draw: 94
“Nice & open ” –Mickey T. (irratebass)
Burn: 88
“Very nice burn only a couple of touch ups were required” –Mickey T. (irratebass)
Construction: 89
“The only thing I can really find fault in the cigar is the construction. The wrapper seems very thin and cracked constantly. It didn’t effect the burn though. Also the cap chipped off on one spot taking about a third of it the band with it. ” –Alan (Eulogy)
Overall Strength: Medium-Strong
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
Experience Overall: 91
“If you like very spicy full bodied cigars this could be a winner for you. The flavors had a nice progression, the burn was spot on, and the smoke output was wonderful. That being said, I wouldn’t smoke this as the first cigar of the day; it’s a little too full. ” –Alan (Eulogy)
“The profile is worth experiencing even with the burn problems. I would have this cigar in my collection no doubt.” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)
“This cigar was good, but not great. It’s one of those cigars that stay consistent. If I wasn’t reviewing it I may have enjoyed it more. This is the kind of cigar that you can smoke and not pay attention to like if you smoke this while watching a show or reading. The cigar had some really nice flavors to me. I was greeted with tea, coffee, wood, chocolate and nuts throughout the smoke, so definitely not one-dimensional. ” –Mickey T. (irratebass)
“This is harsh, but I couldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy. While it started out OK, it all just went to hell in the flavor department. The sourness and saltiness was just a big turn off, not to mention the small snowstorm of ash that would flake off in tiny bits as if there was a grimlin inside throwing it at me saying… please no, stop smoking me. The best thing about this cigar was the draw; that’s it. One and done here. ” –John A. (Bostoneo)
