The original Undercrown Shady was released in collaboration with Shady Records for their 20th Anniversary in 2014 to 10 Detroit area retailers. The blend was a stronger version of the Undercrown like the Corona Viva and came in soft packs of 10 cigars. Now, the company is following that release with the Undercrown ShadyXX to celebrate Shady Records 20th Anniversary. It will be shown off at IPCPR.
Drew Estate announced today new humidified 5-packs in some of it's popular lines including: Undercrown Maduro and Shade, Tabak Especial Dulce and Negra, ACID Kuba Kuba, ACID Kuba Maduro, ACID Toast, ACID Cold Infusion and ACID Blondie and La Vieja Habana Cuban Corojo. They will be shown off at IPCPR.
Another new release for IPCPR this year that has been teased along side the Sobremesa Brûlée is the Mi Querida Triqui Traca. Now it also has been officially announced. This line extension comes from the Mi Querida line of cigars first released in 2016 and reviewed here.
Robert Holt of Southern Draw today announced a line extension to his Rose of Sharon: Rose of Sharon Desert Rose. This new cigar will be shown off at the 2019 IPCPR trade show and convention.
Ventura Cigar Company (VCC) has announced a new collaboration between Michael Giannini, Benjamin “Benji” Menendez, and Manuel “Manolo” Quesada. This new project is called Cuban Cigar Factory, and will be comprised of two blends: The Benji Menendez for Cuban Cigar Factory and The Manolo Quesada for Cuban Cigar Factory.
Southern Draw Cigars is celebrating 5 years in the business. The company says that because of its growth, it has noticed many used cigar boxes at its warehouse, retail stores, and customers. With this in mind, it has opted for a more eco-friendly box design moving forward. There was also a potential patent dispute, so the company has chosen to change design.
Today, Drew Estate announced that they are bringing back a cigar that was last released in 2013, the BOTL. This cigar was originally made for BOTL.org and its members. The cigars will be returning in their original sizes with the Lancero from the 2012 release and the Corona Gorda from the 2013 release as well as a new size, Corona. The blend uses a broadleaf wrapper, Ecuadorian Connecticut binder, and fillers from Nicaragua.
