Ventura Cigars is bringing the Third Chapter of it's Archetype Series to IPCPR 2019. This Chapter will feature two blends: Sacred Scales and Dawn of Destiny. Archetype Chapter 3 is a collaboration with E.P. Carrillo and rolled at his factory La Alianza in the Dominican Republic. Carrillo and Ventura Cigar General Manager Michael Giannini have been friends for 20 years and have collaborated before.
This year, Altadis U.S.A. celebrates the 175 year anniversary of the H. Upmann brand. This milestone is getting its own cigar, the H. Upmann 175th Anniversary Limited Edition. This cigar will only be offered in one viotla, a Churchill size and comes in 10-count boxes numbered to 14,750. There will also be a special edition humidor offered containing 50 cigars.
Casa Cuevas is bringing a new line to IPCPR 2019: Cuevas Reserva. The new line has two wrapper options, Natural and Maduro. Family patriarch Luis Cuevas Sr. originally introduced the Cuevas Reserva back in the early 2000’s but was limited until now.
Aganorsa Leaf is adding a line to its JFR Lunatic series: JFR Lunatic Loco. JFR stands for Just for Retailers and has been around since 2011. The Lunatic line was added in 2015.
Crux Cigars announced today that it would be updating its logo, packaging, and messaging starting at this month. The rebrand includes a new logo, refreshed blend specific branding, all new packaging design, and a comprehensive communication plan. This rebrand will be on view at IPCPR 2019 with 5 updated lines to show including Epicure, Epicure Maduro, Limitada, Guild, and Bull & Bear. The rest of the lines Passport, Skeeterz, and Ninfamaniac will follow in the fourth quarter.
Last year Royal Agio Cigars USA collaborated with EP Carrillo for the first in their Balmoral Serie Signaturas, DUETO. Now, the second in that series is a collaboration with Litto Gomez and La Flor Dominicana, the Balmoral Serie Signaturas Paso Doble. This new cigar will be sown in the Royal Agio booth at IPCPR later in the month.
George Rico and Gran Habano announced a line extension to their Persian King cigar. The original Persian King with Connecticut wrapper has been around since 2009. The maduro version was included in 2016. Both are unbanded. La Contra uses a Nicaraguan wrapper in choice of Natural or Maduro and comes in two vitolas: 6 x 50 Rajah or 6 x 60 Tiger.
Tony Bellatto of La Barba cigars has announced the next in his Ricochet line: Ricochet Mexi-Sol. The Ricochet line is a series meant to go back to Bellatto's roots as a Sommelier, with each of the blends taking a component of wine he has fallen in love with.
Altadis U.S.A. announced today the latest cigar in their H. Upmann lineup, the H. Upmann Hispaniola by Jose Mendez. The is a partnership between Upmann and Jose Mendez who grew the tobacco used in the blend.
