El Artista has announced a new line that will debut at the IPCPR trade show this week. There are three versions of the cigar, and only two are going to the USA. The Maduro and Connecticut versions will be making to the USA with the Maduro using a San Andres wrapper and the other a Connecticut Shade. The binder for both is a rare Negrito leaf grown by El Artista on their farms around Tamboril. The fillers are a multiple coulty blend including a T-13 Hybrid developed by Radhames Rodriguez.
At the 2018 IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas, Crowned Heads will show off the new Court Reserve XVIII. Fans of Crowned Heads cigars will certainly celebrate when the cigars ship to retailers later this fall. It will be a limited edition cigar from the Nashville based company, and available in three sizes. The Court Reserve XVIII is wrapped in Mexican San Andrés, with a binder from Ecuador and Nicaraguan filler leaves.

Today, Rocky Patel Premium Cigars (RPPC) announced a new brand the be debuted at the IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas, ALR. ALR stands for Aged, Limited, and Rare. This is the first in the series that plans to run for years to come. The project started three years ago when Rocky blended a special small batch cigar that he would only order a run of 100,000. He decided it would be a good cigars to age and this became the first ALR.
Today, Omar de Frias, owner of Fratello Cigars, announced Navetta Inverso, which translates to “inverted shuttle” in Italian. It will make its debut at this years IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas. The idea behind the blend is that is uses the same tobacco as the regular Navetta line, but in reverse order. So the tobacco previously used for the wrapper and binder are now the filler, and the filler are now the binder and wrapper.
Earlier today, D.C. District Court Judge Amit Mehta issued an injunction prohibiting the U.S. Food & Drug Administration from enforcing its warning label requirements on cigars and pipe tobacco. The warning label requirements for packaging and advertising were slated to go into effect on August 10th. Judge Mehta’s order delays any enforcement of the requirement until at least 60 days after the conclusion of an appeal currently underway. No date has been set for a court to hear the appeal.
