The first cigar ever released from Crowned Heads was the Four Kicks, back in 2011. Jon Huber turned to E.P. Carrillo to make the cigar, and this is where he turns again to make the latest in the line: Four Kicks Capa Especial.
The story behind this blend is that when developing the original Four Kicks, was down to three test blends for the final product. Two of them Crowned Heads liked better and used a Habano wrapper, and the other, E.P. Carrillo enjoyed more and used a Sumatra wrapper and slightly tweaked fillers. One of those Habano versions won out and became the Four Kicks blend. Now, the company has decided to release the Sumatra version to the world under the name Four Kicks Capa Especial.
The blend for Four Kicks Capa Especial uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, and binder and fillers form Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. It comes in boxes of 24 and three sizes: Corona Gorda (5 5/8 x 46), Robusto (5 x 50) and Sublime (6 x 54). It is rolled at Tabacalera La Alianza, S.A., in Santiago, Dominican Republic, and carries a suggested retail price range of $8.65-$9.95 per cigar. It will ship Spring 2020.
