In 2014, Crowned Heads introduced Las Calaveras, a branding scenario meant to pay tribute to loved ones who passed away in a previous year. Las Calaveras was a great success right away, and has been a release that is anticipated each year by fans of Crowned Heads. Now, Crowned Heads has announced Las Calaveras EL 2018. This marks the fifth iteration of the annual release.
Since the 2014 original release, the team at Crowned Heads have not sat idly by only to trudge out the same release year after year. Each year of Las Calaveras has had it’s own soul and personality. It is meant to celebrate the lives memory of loved ones, rather than a symbol of mourning and sadness.
“As 2018 marks the five-year anniversary of the Las Calaveras marca, we felt it apropos to utilize a Mexican San Andres (maduro) wrapper, which finishes a 100% Nicaraguan tobacco binder and filler blend. We also drew heavy packaging inspiration from the vibrant colors of the Dia de los Muertos holiday.” said Jon Huber, Crowned Heads co-founder. Las Calaveras EL 2018 will be available in three vitolas (24-count boxes) and a 4-cigar sampler that includes one of each main vitola, along with sampler bonus 5 1/2 x 56 vitola.
