Cigar News: Eric Hanson of Hammer + Sickle Dies at 45

Cigar News: Eric Hanson of Hammer + Sickle Dies at 45 Eric Hanson  of Klin Groupe, LLC, the parent of Hammer + Sickle, has passed away at age 45. He started KlinGroupe in 2008 after working as the head of a beer distributor. The brand is maybe best know for it’s Hammer + Sickle vodka, but also know in the cigar world for it’s Hammer + Sickle lines if cigars.

Some of Hammer + Sickle’s Cigar lines include the Icon, Trademark, and Hermitage as well as a separate brand called The Caleanoch, which uses peat-fired tobacco. Hammer + Sickle partnered with Davidoff Cigars, who would rolled their cigars. Hammer and Sickle cigars were also knows for elaborate packaging which included boxes made of glass, leather, and marble.

Services for Hanson will be held later this week.
