El Artista Big Papi The Slugger Robusto - Blind Cigar Review

El Artista Adds Smaller Size to Big Papi – The Slugger – Cigar News

El Artista has been making the Big Papi cigar line since 2016. In 2019, they added a line extension called “The Slugger which was a new, fuller-bodied blend, but it only came in one size, a 6 x 60 Gordo. Now, the company is releasing that same blend in a 5 x 50 format.

David’s brand continues to grow, and since The Slugger’s launch two years ago we have had requests to bring out a new size to complement the existing Gordo XL.

The new blend for The Slugger starts with a San Andres maduro wrapper, Dominican Negrito binder, and fillers from Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and US. The Slugger includes more ligero tobaccos for a stronger profile then the original Big Papi line.

We have hosted many dozens of events with Big Papi since 2018 and gathered a lot of feedback from fans and retailers about The Slugger. There were many requests over the last 24 months for a Robusto, and this year we happy to bring it to PCA ‘21.
