General Cigar held a private reception at the IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada to honor cigar industry legend Benji Menendez for his many contributions to the company and to thank him for his ongoing support.
The Cigar Media Association, of which Blind Man's Puff is a member, is pleased to announce the First Annual Cigar Industry Awards. With the establishment of the Cigar Media Association in 2014, the 14 members involved in the association wanted to create an award ceremony where they could honor and celebrate the companies and individuals in the cigar industry. This marks the first time a collaborative effort among various brands of the cigar media have come together for such a process.

Jordan Alexander III Premium Cigar Company’s newest release, the Jordan Alexander III Corojo will begin shipping to retailers on February 2, 2015. Originally announced as a mid-Fall 2014 release, the release will instead now mark the first release of 2015 for JA3 Cigars.
Gurkha Cigars bring in Shanda Lee as the new Marketing Director. Lee will be responsible for all marketing and brand management of Gurkha Cigars. She will also oversee planing, direction, and coordination of all advertising, public relations, social media and marketing campaigns for the Gurkha Cigars.

Gurkha Cigars planned to acquire American Caribbean Cigars in Q1 2018, but after careful consideration have decided to pull out of the deal. Instead, they will build their own 100,000 square foot factory for the manufacturing of premium cigars for their international markets. They expect the project to take about 2 years as location scouting takes place.
General Cigar announces that Punch Rare Corojo will make its annual return to retail beginning on February 16, 2015. The seasonal collection will welcome a new frontmark and a limited edition size available exclusively this year.
Villiger Cigars announced agreements with Casa Turrent and Brigham Enterprises Inc. to distribute their cigars in Mexico and Canada. Casa Turrent, owned by Alejandro Turrent is a grower, manufacturer, and distributor of cigars in Mexico. Brigham Enterprises Inc., established in 1906, also shares a century’s worth of tobacco history, first as pipe makers and later to become a distributor of cigars in Canada.
