"This was a very good cigar. It stayed in my wheelhouse in the mild to medium strength. This cigar gave me some interesting flavor notes that I appreciated with a mixture of nuts, cedar and other wood notes, root beer (?), salt, and even a salsa note at one point as well as some popcorn aromas on the aromatics. Very enjoyable cigar for the 2 plus hours that I smoked this. I highly recommend picking up a fiver at least. I know I will be picking up more once I know what this is. " -Mickey T. (irratebass)
"This is an extremely full-bodied cigar with core flavors of earth and wood. When the initial pepper spice was joined by some mineral early on things calmed down a bit, I only wish that the addition of coffee and orange zest that appeared in the final third had arrived earlier in the smoking experience as they added some complexity and balance to the cigar that I felt was needed. As far as pairings are concerned, I highly recommend a bourbon that has a natural touch of sweetness to it." -Matt Cade (CadeTNCC)
JR Cigar continues to celebrate their 50th Anniversary with their latest cigar, a special version of one of their most popular house cigars, the JR Ultimate. For this special release, they partnered with AJ Fernandez to make the JR Ultimate 50th Anniversary.
JR Cigar has been celebrating their 50th Anniversary year with a number of new exclusive cigars, but now they have announced a 100-count custom numbered humidor. The humidor was designed by renowned accessory designer Nick Nanavichit and his team at Nsolo Consulting Group. Nsolo previously designed the Davidoff Winston Churchill Wooden Ashtray set as well as several other prominent boxes and accessories.
"This was a fairly complex and transitional medium-bodied cigar. The flavors were well-balanced, and definitely up my alley. The only downside was the amount of attention this needed all the way through. I’d absolutely pick up another one in hopes that the burn issues I had were just a fluke. It was still an enjoyable experience even with a couple of touch-ups and a relight." -Chris M. (Chris)
