Villiger Cigars has announced a new vitola to the Flor De Ynclan line, Flor De Ynclan. This will be limited to 500 boxes of 25 produced a year. This new size will debut at the 2018 IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas.
The young company known as Warped cigars are no strangers to early success. They even took top honors in our own Cigar of the Year list in 2016. At the IPCPR trade show this Summer, fans of Warped cigars will have another reason to smile. That reason comes in the form of a new Lancero called Moon Garden.
The Lancero is the third in the 1502 XO series. The XO series is an annual release, each year getting a different vitola. 2015 saw the wide release of the Toro, and 2016 was the Churchill, and 2017 saw the Salamon. There is a total of 8 vitolas planned. A limited number of 1502 XO Lanceros were sold in 2016 to keep ahead of the FDA deadline with the wide release happening now.
2017 was a big year for Southern Draw Cigars. Robert Holt introduced both the Rose of Sharon and Jacobs ladder, each earning a spot on our Top 25. Now Southern Draw has added a lancero vitola to the Rose of Sharon lineup.
"Just a great cigar. Held my attention throughout, and it was a shame for it to end. For such a long burning smoke that's a real accomplishment. Flavors were all right in my ballpark, but a little different than the typical peppery sweet blends that are typical of that profile." -John I. (John I.)
Back in November of 2017, Blind Man's Puff published the blind panel review of the Protocol Themis by Cubariqueño Cigar Co. The cigar was a hit with our panelists, scoring a 91 averaged across the 5 panelists who reviewed it. Now, to continue that line, they are introducing this tasty cigar in a fan-favorite Lancero vitola. This new cigar will be officially introduced next month at the 2018 IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas.
Jeremy jack cigars has announced their JJ14 Lancero! The JJ14 Lancero contains Nicaraguan Aganorsa leaf binder and filler and is covered in an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. Like the rest of the Jeremy Jack line, these cigars are rolled at the TABSA factory that produces Casa Fernandez, Illusione, and Warped.
"This cigar had some personality. The beginning was nicely balanced with teas, coffees, chocolates and some oak. The peppery tingle came in about half way though but soon everything gelled into a strong cup of coffee or tea. In the final third, near the end, it leveled off into a good cup of tea. Overall I enjoys this one. I just don't like the length of time needed. This would be a good one for the humidor if it were shorter." -Eric (smalls29)
Cubariqueño Cigar Company is proud to announce that it is releasing its third blend, Protocol Themis, at the 2017 International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailer trade show in Las Vegas. "We are super excited to announce the Protocol Themis,” stated Bill Ives, managing partner of Cubariqueño Cigar Company. “These cigars will launch at the 2017 IPCPR trade show with a soft launch on May 13th at our 2 year anniversary party located at Berkeley Humidor, Berkeley Heights, New Jersey.”
"Perfectly balanced and medium bodied is the best way to sum up this cigar. I had the opportunity to smoke two of these premium cigar offerings... that is like 16" of cigar.. never once did a harsh flavor cross my palate. On the exhale we had cedar, white pepper, herbs, antique tobacco, malts, and a little bit of sweetness. Retro had a delicious creamy airy lemon cake and cedar. Multi-country blend for sure. Perfect construction and burn. This cigar had flavors that reminded me of a old Cuban cigar from the 1980's with double the damn body. Aroma had an ancient library smell. This cigar would do very well in the European market. I'm done. Bravo." -Matt C. (Big Matt)
