Cigar Info
The Tatuaje Jason JV13, part of the esteemed Tatuaje Monster Series, pays tribute to the iconic horror figure Jason Voorhees from “Friday the 13th.” The series is known for its unique thematic inspirations and, in 2023, it expanded, in a very limited manner, with the introduction of the SNS Mini Jason JV13. This new cigar, designed exclusively for members of the Tatuaje Sinners & Saints (SNS) club, adopts a compact format with its dimensions set at 4 inches in length by a 50 ring gauge, providing a shorter and more compact smoking experience.
This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience.
Crafted with a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper that envelops a core of Nicaraguan binder and fillers, the SNS Mini Jason JV13 mirrors the original’s full-bodied intensity and complex flavor profile in a smaller package.

Initial Impressions – Tatuaje SNS Mini Jason JV13
Appearance: 93
“A short robusto with a very nice dark brown oily wrapper with a gritty feel in the hand. Some noticeable thicket veins throughout as well.” –Quinn (quinnpins269)
Aroma: 91
“There is a lot of baking spice and stone fruit from the foot and pre-draw.” –Alan (Eulogy)
First Third
Flavor: 93
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
“Out the gate, I was greeted with an abundance of black pepper and oaky notes. After the first few puffs, they calmed down a bit. But they were still very much present. I did get very nice hints of citrus every so often. Though they faded quickly they were a nice addition to the profile.” –Quinn (quinnpins269)
“The first portion of the cigar is sharply peppery and full of significant leather flavor. Through-the-nose smoke is peppery yet still enjoyable, which I like. On the finish, I get an oaky wood note that reminds me of a charred campfire.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
Second Third
Flavor: 93
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Full
At 1.5 inches in, the ash is a whitish gray, and stacked like dimes. Construction and burn are solid. The draw fills the mouth easily with delicious smoke. The retrohale has gone cosmically good with toffee, nougat, and fluffy baking spice. My bald spot has a sweat glaze over it from the strength, that I hope doesn’t ice over, causing a polar cap in the Garage Lounge. At the halfway mark, a buttery sweet cayenne adds to the enjoyment.” –Randy B. (randobush)
“I’m still getting a vegetal-heavy profile. The baking spice, cedar, and mineral are all there with a more mild pepper finish.” –Alan (Eulogy)
Final Third
Flavor: 91
Strength: Strong
Body/Complexity: Full
“It doesn’t take long to get to the final third on a 4-inch cigar, but once I got there, I picked up salty butter, paprika, sweet cayenne, and baking spice, and a bit of savoriness. Salt lingers on the tongue on the finish. The strength is strength. The draw and burn and Retrohale are all commendable.” –Randy B. (randobush)
“The final portion of this cigar has remained firmly in the full body range. There has been no significant transition in flavors and the profile has remained woody, peppery, and earthy on the main with a slightly sharper pepper note through the nose.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
Overall Impressions – Tatuaje SNS Mini Jason JV13
Draw: 95
“Great draw the whole time. Never felt the need to roll the cigar to loosen anything up.” –Quinn (quinnpins269)
Burn: 93
“I was battling a moderate breeze today but you never would have known it by the way this sample burned…no issues for me at all. I was really impressed with the slow burn, getting over an hour out of this little cigar.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
Construction: 95
“I felt the construction on this cigar was excellent. Ash held on nicely and knocked off in chunks. No fuss or relights needed. Great from start to finish.” –Quinn (quinnpins269)
Overall Strength: Medium-Strong
Overall Body/Complexity: Full
Experience Overall: 94
“This cigar was perfect for someone who appreciates both strength and flavor but has little time to enjoy a full length smoke. The draw, burn, construction, complexity of flavors, and strength…tickled my fancy! Delicious down to the fingertips. I’d smoke it again and again.” –Randy B. (randobush)
“This was definitely a fuller-bodied little powerhouse of a cigar and a fine way to wake up my palate. Lots of pepper and oak, along with a bit of leather plant this right in the middle of my wheelhouse. If you like some power and lots of flavor then I recommend you give this a try!” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
“I somehow drew this short smoke out to almost 55 minutes. But I really enjoyed every minute of it. The heavy pepper and oak notes with the hints of citrus were a nice combination. If you are short on time or need a closer for the evening this cigar checked all the boxes for me.” –Quinn (quinnpins269)
“This was a good cigar even though the profile wasn’t in my wheelhouse. I found the flavors to be too green and mineral-forward for my preference. Still, I found the draw, burn, and smoke production to be great.” –Alan (Eulogy)
