Initial Impressions
Appearance: 89
“Corona sized cigar that is dark brown like wood in color plenty of visible seams, but no veins” –Mickey T. (irratebass)
Aroma: 89
“This cigar had a real pleasant aroma. Soft notes of mixed nuts came forward and were very inviting. The cold draw was very smooth and clean and had me ready to light this thing up.” –Steve (ThaGreatWazoo)
First Third
Flavor: 87
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
“First puff delivers a blast of pepper from both the body and retro hale. I often have a hard time distinguishing between certain flavors but this really reminds me of crushed red pepper. Upon the first few puffs I’m sitting back and ready to see what else this cigar delivers! After about the first inch the pepper subsides slightly but still present. A bit of the honey sweetness is present but is hard to detect from the general woodsy / barnyard flavors present. Seems weird to describe as a positive aspect, but there is a lingering musky flavor that I’m actually enjoying. ” –David F. (dfafjf)
“WOW!!!! starts off with alot of spice and black pepper on the front putting it through the nose is like rubbing your eyes after picking peppers in the garden. Its not close to over powering but you know its there. After about a half inch it becomes a very heavy earth profile. At medium plus with a little cream” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)
Second Third
Flavor: 90
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
“No real flavor change, which isn’t a bad thing. This cigar is really making my mouth dry with the mustiness, and I have to continue to sip water with each puff. Getting a chocolate fudge kind of flavor on the lips and tongue…..yummy. Sadly the fudge didn’t last long, the mustiness has returned….not a very complex cigar. ” –Mickey T. (irratebass)”
“Its mainly earth there have been times I thought it was going to take a sweeter turn, but to no avail. The wrapper has split in a couple places i thought that might be a problem as thin as the wrapper is.” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)
Final Third
Flavor: 87
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
“The final third remained earthy but was more dirty then dark earth. Unfortunately the flavors never really cleared up and remained muddy through the end.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
“The hype I have for this cigar so far is way up there. With that said, the final third disappointed me. Not that it was not good, but it lost its momentum. The notes began to slow and the overall complexity melted together. The profile became muddied over and all notes blended almost over-the-top. Still, a good finish, but nothing like the first two thirds.” –Steve (ThaGreatWazoo)
Overall Impressions
Draw: 92
“The draw was very clean and crisp. A straight cut and flame got this thing going.” –Steve (ThaGreatWazoo)
Burn: 93
“A prime example of how a cigar should burn. Slow and cool with a firm ash.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
Construction: 91
“Construction was good, nice firm ash that held on about an inch at a time ” –Mickey T. (irratebass)
Overall Strength: Medium-Strong
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
Experience Overall: 88
“Not anything exceptiinally special about this one would keep it around for golf or yard activities” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)
“I knocked the final third of this cigar, but only because the first two thirds were tremendous. One of the best cigars I have reviewed for Blind Man’s Puff. Grab these, as many as you can, and enjoy them often. Outstanding job.” –Steve (ThaGreatWazoo)
“I really enjoyed smoking this cigar. The first 1/3 of the cigar was truly fantastic. Really great spice and pepper to begin mixed with hints of sweetness. If the flavors continued throughout the rest of the cigar, it would have ranked much higher for me. While the second and final 1/3 of the cigar was very good, I was missing a lot of the flavors that the cigar started out having.” –David F. (dfafjf)
“This cigar didn’t blow me away or upset me, it was just there. I enjoyed the molasses, and chocolate flavors that I detected, but sadly they didn’t last long enough to hold my attention. There was way too much mustiness that left my mouth dry.
“I wouldn’t buy any, but if gifted I would smoke again.” –Mickey T. (irratebass)
“There were flashes of goodness in this cigar but the beginning and end are what really stands out… Unfortunately neither of those portions have me wanting to try another.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
