In Late 2014 Xikar announced the Turrim Double Flame lighter coming in at a hefty 5 x 64. Designed to fit into your favorite Xikar Travel Humidor. At this year’s IPCPR Trade Show, Xikar revealed the Turrim Single Flame version Xikar | Turrim Single Lighter G2. The Single flame version comes in at a very reasonable 4.5 x 50. If you have seen or read up on the Original Turrim you would find this version has all the same features you would expect.
The ignition on the Turrim Single Flame is the same that you would find on it’s bigger brothers the Turrim Double Flame as well as the Ellipse Triple Flame. The pull back ignition feels great in the hand with a very natural feel and effortless ignition. I have used this lighter for months as my primary lighter and it has yet to have any issues lighting. I relate this to the very large air intakes on the sides of the lighter. For years my go to lighter has been the Xikar EX Softflame and quickly this lighter has taken its place.
First thing you notice is the finish on this lighter. The G2 version is a gorgeous gun metal that from experience is very durable to drops. After months of using and numerous rolls off of the table you can’t even tell my doing a once over of the lighter. It really has held up very well to being tossed around, in and out of my pocket as well as the travel humidor. While the double flame version is also designed to go into a travel humidor I find the 4.5×50 size to fit very well and at no point did I worry about any damage to any other cigars in the humidor.
The final feature you will notice (and my favorite) is the adjustment wheel. It has a very satisfying ratchet sound as you adjust the flame up or down. It’s a very smooth action and if you are like me and do enjoy a good device to fidget with, then you would also enjoy it. One thing also to note when having this lighter with you is everyone will want to use it. No matter how many other lighters are around this thing just draws people to it.
Bottom line, this lighter is fantastic. It for sure has replaced any other single flame lighter I have been using. The only thing that would make this better if they could fit another jet into this small format. The price tag is $49 and recommended.
Verdict: Great
