You will soon have the chance to enjoy the first handmade cigar blend released from the Balmoral Serie Signaturas (Signature Series) platform. Boris Wintermans collaborated with the E. P. Carrillo for this first release. The cigar is called DUETO, and it will premiere in the Royal Agio at the 2018 IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas.
DUETO is the a special collaboration of two renowned Dominican cigar makers. Ernesto Pérez-Carrillo and Boris Wintermans each have distinguished history in the premium cigar world, and now they share that philosophy in the DUETO. Each cigar maker incorporated hand-selected, preferred tobaccos into this one-of-a-kind experience.
Boris Wintermans, CEO for Royal Agio Cigars, stated, “I am honored to have had the opportunity to work alongside Ernesto on this very special collaboration project for Balmoral. I want to push the boundaries of what can be discovered in premium cigar blending, and it is this desire that inspired the creation of the Balmoral Serie Signaturas. The resulting blend for DUETO, behind Ernesto’s blending genius, makes this first release nothing short of exceptional.”
Ernesto Pérez-Carrillo commented, “It has been a pleasure to work with Boris and his team at Royal Agio on this special project, especially because we share a fundamental, common exploratory philosophy as cigar makers. I feel that we’ve created something very special here and that this release will be one of the most exciting introductions of the year.”
The DUETO uses extensively aged Nicaraguan and exclusive, stalk-cut Brazilian Mata Norte tobacco. An Esteli Nicaraguan binder and a robust, yet elegant Nicaraguan wrapper from Jalapa. Shipments to U.S. retailers will begin September, 2018.
