Cigar Info
The limited edition from Room 101 was shown off at the 2013 IPCPR trade show and then was released in that October. Master Collection Two was supposed to follow shortly after the Master Collection One and be released in 2013 as well, but packaging delays caused the release to be pushed back to early 2014.
This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience.

Initial Impressions
Appearance: 93
“This is a very good looking cigar and one I would consider a petite robusto. The stick sports 3 tight seams, and a nicely affixed cap with various veins dancing across the wrapper.” –Matt C. (Big Matt)
Aroma: 88
“On the wrapper, aromas are mild and only consist of cedar and mild grass. The foot adds a graham cracker aroma. The cold draw is an interesting flavor like musty earth, almost mushroom type flavor.” –Matthew T. (A Huge Nerd)
First Third
Flavor: 91
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium
“The retro is captivating: pepper, cream, cedar and floral notes. The finish is clean leaving cedar on the palate until I swill water. The exhale also presents cream, various dried woods, and pepper. Tongue dances on the exhale reminding me of a wet exotic cedar.” –Matt C. (Big Matt)
“The first light takes me right into black pepper flavors, along with more of that earthiness from the cold draw. Because of the open draw, it is burning hot, but flavors are still there. The flavor profile sits on that same earthy and peppery combination with a little citrus on the finish.” –Matthew T. (A Huge Nerd)
Second Third
Flavor: 89
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium
“The ash held on for an inch and a half before falling off in one big chunk. Still has that creaminess and I even detected a faint bread flavor.” –Mickey T. (irratebass)
“The flavors of the second portion were a continuance of the first flavors wit the addition of charred oak. This is not a cigar to be trifled with at this point and it forcefully demands my attention.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
Final Third
Flavor: 93
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium
“In the final third, the wood and pepper continue to ramp up but do not wash out the other nuances this premium cigar provides from its casita. I love a small vitola that provides flavors in this compact size. The retro is now straight cream homie. The finish remains clean. The exhale keeps up the pace of the second third with cream, various dried woods, and pepper.” –Matt C. (Big Matt)
“As I neared the end of this cigar the flavors mellowed out a bit and I lost the charred flavors and most of the pepper. The flavors have remained quite full, however, and really are suiting my mood. What I’m left with is a rich espresso and earth…quite good.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
Overall Impressions
Draw: 91
“Draw was open and I was able to get plenty of smoke.” –Mickey T. (irratebass)
Burn: 89
“I experienced a nice steady burn that produced plenty of cool flavorful smoke. For a short cigar I achieved about 45 minutes of enjoyment.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
Construction: 90
“This cigar was heavy in the hand, attractive, and performed very well…all attributes of a superbly constructed cigar.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
Overall Strength: Medium-Strong
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium
Overall Experience: 93
“I really enjoyed this cigar and would very much so enjoy to be able to experience this premium cigar offering again. While not being the most complex cigar it provided great flavors throughout. The retro was where this blend is at with the pepper, cream, cedar and floral notes. Finish was clean AF. The petite robusto vitola is a favorite of mine and would work great in colder climates. Pick up this cigar and smoke it because Momma always said, “what is here today could be gone tomorrow.” Applause.” –Matt C. (Big Matt)
“Fantastic cigar which started out with a blast of pepper to the face, then turned into a sweet creamy goddess which left me bit sad when it ended. Can’t wait to find out what this was.” –Mickey T. (irratebass)
“This was a cigar that grabbed my attention and kept it from the first to the last puff. As a person who enjoys a full bodied cigar, this was right where I want it. I am pleased that the flavors transitioned from the charred wood to the finish of espresso and earth…I think this would pair well with a good bourbon or scotch.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
“I have to give this one a good rating because it tasted good and performed well. That being said, there was no “wow-factor”. If you don’t need that, it is a consistent short smoke with decent flavor and good burn.” –Matthew T. (A Huge Nerd)
