Initial Impressions
Appearance: 93
“Very light wrapper. One of the more pale Connecticut‘s I’ve seen. Very minimal veins and seems also very well done. This cigar screams mild from appearance but we’ll give it a shot.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
Aroma: 88
“This cigar has really inviting pre-light aroma and draw. I’m getting tobacco, hay and earthiness reminiscence of mushrooms.” –Jason (bigslowrock)
First Third
Flavor: 89
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium
“The first few puffs are fantastic. There is almost no spice but loads of cedar and leather, along with that bourbon finish I picked up in the pre-light. Sadly the bourbon flavor fades, but I’m still left with the other flavors which are working well.” –Emmett (rhetorik)
“In the 1st third, favors consist of toast, nuts, mild tobacco, and pepper. The favors are nicely balanced, except for the pepper, and I was actually surprised at the strength of it at first, but it toned down with shorter, shallower puffs. Draw is outstanding and the stogie is producing tons of smoke.” –Robert (NavyPiper)
Second Third
Flavor: 88
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium
“Still heavy cedar dominating the flavor of the cigars. There is some underlying notes of earthiness. The cigar still seems to be lacking an element of either sweetness or creaminess.” –Jason (bigslowrock)
“Not much change going on so far in this third, I’m still getting a cedar and leather base with some pepper here and there, but still not a very strong cigar. The cedar fades further in and makes way for some spices and more leather. The finish has gotten longer and with more spice.” –Emmett (rhetorik)
Final Third
Flavor: 86
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium
“Still not much change from this cigar. While the flavors are good, I need a little more transition to keep me interested. The flavors have shifted a little towards the dry and hay side from the leather I was picking up before. The finish isn’t quite as long and there isn’t much spice. I enjoyed the flavors of this cigar, but it has gotten a little boring towards the end of this third.” –Emmett (rhetorik)
“In the final third, it’s pretty much all pepper, regardless of the size of the puff. It stayed this way for the duration of the third.” –Robert (NavyPiper)
Overall Impressions
Draw: 98
“Draw was very good on this stick. No issues.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
Burn: 91
“The burn was failry even from start to finish.” –Craig (WyldKnyght)
Construction: 97
“The cigar was consistently filled. The burn and look also point to a well constructed cigar.” –Jason (bigslowrock)
Overall Strength: Medium
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium
Overall Experience: 88
“I really did not enjoy this cigar, I only continued to smoke it to give an honest review. I’m sure someone will like it, but I’m not sure who.” –Craig (WyldKnyght)
“This cigar just was not for me. I can’t smoke mild cigars. They end up tasting like I’m smoking cardboard. It did start out nice with some spice, but after that faded it was all downhill for me. I ended up not finishing the entire stick.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
“The flavor profile was not in my wheelhouse. There was nothing detracting in the smoke. I would probably not go in search of any more, but others may find this cigar to their liking.” –Jason (bigslowrock)
“I did enjoy this cigar, but I wish it had been a little more complex or had some more transitions. It wasn’t as dry as some Connecticut cigars and I appreciated that, but it did get a little boring. If the price is right I would consider picking up a five pack of these. For fans of milder and Connecticut cigars, I would recommend giving it a try.” –Emmett (rhetorik)
“Usually I avoid Connecticut stories as they tend to be too mild for me. But not this guy. It had good flavors and had a couple changes which were nice. The pepper was a powerhouse in the final third, or in the first two when I took too big a puff. Good stogie.” –Robert (NavyPiper)
