Initial Impressions
Appearance: 91
“Nice looking chocolate color wrapper with minimal veins and the seams are done extremely well.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
Aroma: 90
“Nosing the wrapper gives a floral women’s perfume and barnyard. Nosing the foot tells creamy bread and sweet hay matched with just the right amount of well rounded black pepper spice. Cold draw tells cedar, black pepper spice and dry cardboard.” –Jiunn (jliu)
First Third
Flavor: 92
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
“First third gives voluminous smoke production reminiscent of a Drew Estate Liga (the cigar almost smokes itself). In terms of flavors, a rather bold earthiness is the core flavor profile. Mainly notes of toasty burnt roasted nuts, slick oily black pepper and medium bodied sweet cream. The body and strength is both at a solid medium.” –Jiunn (jliu)
“The first puffs of this cigar are much like the pre-smoke aroma, earthy and nutty. Further in, I start to get an almost fermented taste, like wine. This continues for the rest of the third and is quite tasty and very interesting.” –Emmett (BMP_Emmett)
Second Third
Flavor: 89
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
“Second third gives the same flavor profile as the first third but at a much toned down manner. Still getting the same toasty burnt roasted nuts, slick oily black pepper and medium bodied sweet cream. The cigar is still smoking (itself) like a champ. The body and strength continues to be at a solid medium.” –Jiunn (jliu)
“The second third has become much more creamy and smooth. There is a nice think creaminess to the smoke that coats your entire palate. The spice and pepper are still there but have moved to the background. There is some nice sweet cedar that is very creamy while the spice hits the back of the throat and is on the retrohale.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
Final Third
Flavor: 90
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
“Great finish to the stogie. The flavors all melded together into a flavor all it’s own. The spice really started ramping up, increasing the heat on the palate and sinuses, and with the sweetness of the molasses it was kind of like a sweet hot pepper, but didn’t really detect any major increase in the pepper. The rich tobacco was a great addition to the combination, and from start to stop was a very enjoyable stogie.” –Robert (NavyPiper)
“In this third, the fermented flavor has backed off a bit and made room for a nice dark roast coffee. There are still some spices in the background and finish like cinnamon.” –Emmett (BMP_Emmett)
Overall Impressions
Draw: 97
“Draw was the perfect amount of resistance.” –Emmett (BMP_Emmett)
Burn: 94
“The burn line was razor sharp. The only downside is the cigar ash not being able to hold as well (average of 2 cm ashes). The ash itself did not flower at all which is always a great thing.” –Jiunn (jliu)
Construction: 97
“The overall construction has been very good. Great burn and the cigar held a very nice ash. No complaints at all.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
Overall Strength: Medium-Strong
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
Overall Experience: 90
“Overall, this was a “fair” experience. I enjoyed the first third’s flavors the most. The intensity of the bold earthiness was rich and full. The second third was a let down as the boldness almost completely died down. I would smoke this cigar again if given one but would not purchase any.” –Jiunn (jliu)
“Overall, this cigar is a great thick, creamy, smooth smoke. There is enough spice and pepper mixed in that compliments it very well. There has also been some sweetness to it that comes and goes and fits in real well. Very good smoke. I would smoke it again for sure.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
“This is one I’d smoke again anytime. Flavors were interesting and enjoyable, and was a very pleasant time smoking this stogie.” –Robert (NavyPiper)
“This was a very enjoyable cigar. It offered a unique flavor profile and quite a bit of transitions that kept things fresh. The fermented flavor was something I’m not sure I ever have tasted in a cigar before and definitely want to smoke more to see if I get the same thing. I’m excited to see what this is.” –Emmett (BMP_Emmett)
